History
PC-based flight simulation software has been popular since the introduction of Microsoft Flight Simulator in the early 1980s, and as soon as such software appeared, pilots and instructors started arguing about if and how they should be used in formal flight training.
Today, the benefit of flight simulators in flight training is rarely of dispute - for many years already, flight schools, flight instructors, and pilots have been using Microsoft’s Flight Simulator software and others to train and stay proficient (including FlightSafety International, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and the U. S. Navy).
In 2008, Microsoft, recognizing Flight Simulator’s potential as a training aid, released Microsoft ESP. ESP provided commercial, government, and educational organizations with a robust simulation platform on which to build custom training solutions.
In 2008, my cockpit-building hobby led me to search a program that would allow interaction with Flight Simulator. After weeks of research, I could not find any commercially available program that would cater my needs, and so. . . I wrote one.
The Instructor Station™, as conceived, would enable practicing approaches, changing weather and inject failures to practice procedures, along with managing the simulator itself (networked PCs, etc. ). Little did I know when I started writing back then that it would evolve into something used by flight schools in formal pilot training, as part of FAA-approved certified aviation training devices.
The Instructor Station™ can be used as part of an FAA approved training device that students can log hours in (when under the supervision of a certified instructor). The Instructor Station and the simulation can be run on two separate computers over a network, or on the same machine.
No matter what your specific needs or situation is, one thing’s for sure: the Instructor Station™ will revolutionize the way you use your flight simulator product, whether for business or leisure.
What People Are Saying
Instructor Station™ has proven to be very successful among the Aviation, PC Flight Simulation and Cockpit Building communities. Thousands of aviation professionals and enthusiasts are using the Instructor Station all throughout the world.
Present in 70+ countries, and more than 8+ years of continued development and support !

“ For anyone thinking of putting together a cockipt or for those who already have one, a vital program is the Instructor Station, with it you can perform many tasks without having to access the menus of the FS, put fuel, train approaches, simulate faults and etc . . . Luis Gordo did an excellent job with this software that originally was created for his own cockipt that is an A320. In addition to the excellent quality of the software what also stands out is the price !! The same software only the Project Magenta you will pay the small sum of 800 euros !! Already Luis software costs only 39. 50 euros !! What difference huh? ”

Focus and Limits
Instrument Simming 21st Century describes and explains advanced aviation knowledge needed for truly realistic instrument simulations. It applies to most aircraft, airports, airspaces, and simulators. It does not focus on any particular airport, aircraft, airspace, or simulator.
This manual is for home flight-simulation computer programs. It is based on real aviation laws, regulations, and procedures so home flight-simulation enthusiasts can maximize their enjoyment. Because some aspects of home flight-simulation games are not exactly like real-world aviation, some information in this book is not exactly like real flight. That is why Instrument Simming 21st Century is not intended for and should not be used for real-world flight or lessons. No liability is accepted for any misuse of this manual. – Bill Stack, author
Use Your Time Productively
Don’t lose valuable flight-simming opportunities searching the internet for flimsy freebies. Most are worth their cost. Ftldave says it best:
“YouTube is hit or miss. Sometimes there's great, informative content, other times the videos are useless and unintelligible. How much time do you want to spend searching for the former, how much time to waste with the latter? As is often said about open software, the same is true for this: It's free if your time has no value to you. ”
Flight simmers have trusted, benefitted, and enjoyed my instructional books since 1997.
Satisfaction Guaranteed
A lot of time and effort has been invested by me and others toward making a quality product that is useful to people. Any book with physical defects will be replaced at no cost. If you can show that the content of Instrument Simming 21st Century is not as described, your money will be refunded. If you find facts that you believe are in error, please let me know so I can evaluate them. – Bill Stack, Author

The only big difference, besides the integration into the EFB instead of the toolbar at the top of the screen is, that the EFB APP also works in the career mode, at least for now.
I cannot guarantee that this will always be the case, since MS/Asobo could one day decide to supress or disable EFB apps in career mode too, like they did with other regular mods.
This addon contains no checklists itself, but only the pure EFB APP integration. All checklists are streamed from a server and new checklists added by me, will be shown automatically in the mod.
All checklists and the Ingame Toolbar Checklists Mod will always be availaible for free on flightsim. to.
My checklist collection includes over 50 handcrafted checklists with procedures mainly created for beginners. Some of the checklists are also available with inverted colors to be used as kind of a dark mode
If you want to see a complete list of all current checklists, check out the free toolbar version.

Kinetic Assistant is a SimConnect utility that covers missing simulation or gameplay elements of the Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020). Desktop application read sim variables and return adjusted values (like speed and rotation) back into the game to simulate some specific conditions, uplift inside of artificial hotspot for example. Also it can insert objects into the game, like AI tow planes.
Currently, these features are available: Winch, Tow, Hotspots, Catapult and Arresting gear, NMEA data exchange. All of them have limitations, so please read the description for each below.
* Kinetic Assistant has ALBATROSS competitions app integrated. All flight plans, weather presets and other kind of data related to race events are property of their authors, you are not eligible to republish them anyhow without author approval.
* Fully compatible aircraft:
DG808S (freeware, available on msfs. touching. cloud)
Discus2C (freeware, flightsim. to).
* Partially compatible aircraft: any native or legacy MSFS glider or carrier based aircraft.
* Hotspots data provided by thermal. kk7. ch and maps. openAIP. net services.
Package includes
* EXE application (installed . NET Framework is required)
* Towplane tracks – can be used on any runway, just choose takeoff direction properly
* Detailed PDF manual
* KineticPanel – MSFS toolbar with navigation and quick control buttons (winch, push, tow), spiral and birds for hotspots, animated ropes and winch vehicle.
Key features
a. Winch is the simplest way to get your glider into the air. You can select rope length and elasticity, winch speed, initial acceleration, rope damage and random failures chances.
b. You can replay the existing towplane route or create your own. Or just ask your friend to tow you on his favorite aircraft (but multiplayer towing has limitations). Available settings: connection point (nose, CG, tail), rope elasticity and damage. Also you can ask your crew to push you to the runway (no animated people though), use control device to move and rotate.
c. Simple replay tool to record towplane and glider flights, then replay single aircraft or several at once.
d. Catapult is a perfect option to take off from a small piece of land or aircraft carrier – set initial speed and prepare for launch. Any aircraft eligible for the catapult.
e. Arrestor gear can be used for aircraft carrier landings or emergency landing training on the usual runway. You can use any aircraft, actual tailhook presence is not required.
f. Hotspots are areas with updraft wind active during daytime, which can hold your glider in the air for a much longer time. You can load real life API hotspots or create your own map in LNM. Hotspots can be used together with native thermals (appear under wide clouds during hot temperature) and ridge lift (reflected wind).
g. You can connect external gliding application (like XCsoar) with MSFS by NMEA protocol to receive basic information about the flight – location, altitude, airspeed etc.
h. You can see other pilots, which uses KineticAssistant or ALBATROSS as well, on the world map
i. You can teleport to any selected location/altitude on the world map immediatelly
f. You can install and load any ALBATROSS Racing flight plan with related weather preset and participate in competition or perform training without need to care about best time.
