The airport is privately owned by the Mountain Air Development Corporation and sits nestled in the hillside at an elevation of 1350 meters (4432 feet), with a lavish country club and golf course in immediate proximity. Due to the immediate proximity of Mountain Air Airport to the Mountain Air Country Club, 2NC0 is a very popular destination for both aviators and golf enthusiasts. Located roughly halfway between Knoxville and Charlotte, the nearby Burnsville is a mere 15 mins. drive away. The area surrounding the airport also features the private, gated community of Mountain Air, which offers a truly spectacular panorama with long-range mountain views from the various properties located there. The airport’s GPS coordinates are: 35°52′7. 4″N 82°20′30. 5″W (35. 86872, -82. 34179) The location of this very unique North American altiport not only provides a visually breathtaking approach and departure above the Blue Ridge Mountains, the surrounding terrain and unpredictable weather associated with mountainous terrain, do not leave much margin for error, and is likely to keep even the most experienced pilot on their toes.

Foynes, Ireland, well-known for its claim to fame for being the birthplace of Irish coffee during this time, served as an aviation hub between North America and Europe, and with the highly anticipated B-314 from PILOT´S, virtual pilots too can now recreate the many Atlantic crossings that made the fleet of Pan Am Clippers famous. Although none of the original 12 Clipper aircraft were preserved, the inspiration to create this PILOT´S representation of the B-314, which over time will be developed to study level, is to allow this majestic flying machine to yet again take to the skies, even if just to the virtual skies!

Cedar Key has some of the most stunning sunrises and sunsets you have ever seen. Cedar Key Airport, officially known as George T. Lewis Airport, is uniquely located on a small island at Daughtry Bajou, on Florida’s North-Eastern Gulf Coast, and is connected to the mainland via the main Airport Road bridge, popularly called the Fishing Bridge. KCDK, a county-owned public-use airport, is situated roughly halfway between Tallahassee and Tampa, and about 1 nautical mile west of Cedar Key’s central business district (CBD), in Levy County, Florida, United States. The US military opened the airport in 1936, primarily as an air sea rescue base during and after World War II. Cedar Key Airport sits at an elevation of about 3 m (11 ft) above sea level and covers an area of about 40 acres (16 ha). The airport has one main 718 x 30 meter (2355 by 100 feet) paved asphalt runway designated RWY 5 / RWY 23, with a displaced threshold on both sides, as well as one concrete helipad that is used by EMS and other rotary-wing aircraft. The Cedar Key Airport area is surrounded by part of a large protected bird sanctuary, which is home to birds such as osprey, eagles, herons, egrets, buzzards, pelicans, and seagulls. Apparently there are even several osprey nests within the immediate area of the runway.

Located near the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Richmond Highway, roughly 9 km NE of Lynchburg Regional Airport (KLYH) in Virginia, USA, and 4 km from Lynchburg’s famous downtown Diamond Hill Historic District, Falwell Airport is a privately owned General Aviation (GA) airport.
The airport itself might not normally be on the radar of a GA pilot if it weren’t for its incredible ski-slope type runway.
The extremely unusual runway profile makes W24 a very popular GA destination. Area topography shows a 50 m drop from the RWY 10 threshold towards the East and a very pronounced incline when viewed from RWY 28. Due to this ski-slope runway profile, take-off is restricted to the downward sloping RWY 10, while the uphill graded RWY 28 is used for landing.
