ATC Scout - Find the flight worth flying on VATSIM
Every VATSIM session starts the same way: tabbing between the network map, the events calendar, and a dozen open browser windows, trying to work out where the controllers actually are, whether an event is worth flying, and whether your route will get you real ATC coverage from gate to gate.

Every VATSIM session starts the same way: tabbing between the network map, the events calendar, and a dozen open browser windows, trying to work out where the controllers actually are, whether an event is worth flying, and whether your route will get you real ATC coverage from gate to gate.
ATC Scout does that legwork for you.
Tell it where you're starting from, how much time you've got, and what kind of flight you're after. ATC Scout cross-references live VATSIM traffic, controller coverage, and current events to give you a ranked shortlist of flights that are actually worth flying right now.
What It Does
Live ATC Coverage
Checks departure, enroute, and arrival coverage for every route it suggests - not just whether an airport has a tower online.
Event-Aware
Factors in official VATSIM events, so you can fly into the action or steer clear of the chaos if you'd rather have a quieter session.
Network Activity
Looks at how busy a route or region actually is right now, rather than relying on outdated activity levels.
Matches Your Flight
Set your:
-
Starting area
-
Search radius
-
Time available
-
Flight type
-
Desired experience level
ATC Scout then finds flights that actually fit what you're looking for.
Live Weather
See current METARs for every airport it recommends, so you know what conditions you'll be flying into before you depart.
Built-In Airport & FIR Database
Get the information you need without constantly switching between ATC Scout, charts, databases, and browser tabs.
How It Works
ATC Scout is a lightweight, standalone Windows app designed to work alongside your simulator.
It's completely simulator-agnostic - it doesn't touch your simulator or aircraft. Instead, it answers one simple question:
"Where should I fly tonight?"
Choose your preferences, let ATC Scout analyse the current VATSIM network, and pick a flight from the recommendations.
Works alongside any flight simulator you use for VATSIM.
Stop Searching. Start Flying.
