The International Terminal was opened in 1997 with 12 boarding gates, all of which have jetways. The domestic terminal has 7 boarding gates without jetways on account of the small aircraft unusable. There are more than 20 airlines flying directly to cities in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia, there are four domestic airlines flying directly to eastern cities and offshore islands in Taiwan at Kaohsiung International Airport.
