Quality assurance in the AUVA treatment facilities is based on the needs and wishes of the patients, the employees and the organization. In this order of priorities, a model was introduced that supports the practical work on site. As in all AUVA accident hospitals, the error reporting system CIRPS (Critical Incident Reporting and Prevention System) was introduced in Klagenfurt by the end of 2011.
Across Austria there are 16 emergency heliports. Until 2001, the helicopters of the ÖAMTC intervened in collaboration with the Bundesheer and the Bundesgendarmerie. The collaboration of the Christophorus Flugrettungsverein extends today with the Austrian Red Cross , mountain rescue and Berufsrettung Wien. The rescue helicopter is used in the event of a traffic accident but also with mountains medical emergencies.
The UKH is equipped with a top floor helipad for emergencies.
High skilled pilots are required.
