All buildings and facilities in the area of the airport and the interior of the terminal are recreated with the highest level of detail. All buildings and facilities in the area of the airport and the interior of the terminal are recreated with the highest level of detail. A detailed 3D elevation model with a slightly inclined runway according to the real profile conveys the atmosphere of this volcanic island very credibly. Dynamic lights of the traffic on the apron and around the airport illuminate the scenery at night as well as at dusk and create an authentic atmosphere. As the runway is too short for international airlines, La Gomera airport connects the island with the rest of the archipelago. The south airport is situated in a tourist area, and therefore is the busiest, having hundreds of connections to different parts of the world. In this package, we recreated these two airports, GCTS and GCXO, and added a few POIs with custom satellite images and mesh.
The airports are known for their difficult weather conditions making every approach challenging. In the north, you’ll frequently meet low clouds, fog, and rain. In the south on the other hand wind gusts, sandstorms, and wind shears.
Watch out for Calima and extremely high temperatures combined with low visibility.
