We are offering a scenery and mission bundle providing a simulation of U. S. Navy Field Carrier Landing Practice in the FA - 18E Super Hornet. It includes two upgraded U. S. Navy airfield sceneries with a mission package offering dynamic Air Traffic Control and Landing Signal Officer radio communications. Here are more details on the package components:
NAS Oceana (KNTU): During your FCLP missions you will fly out of NAS Oceana in Norfolk, VA. It is the Navy's East Coast master jet base and hosts 16 Super Hornet squadrons. Upgrades to the airport scenery include:
1. Based on the high quality of Asobo's aerial imagery of the airport, the airport surfaces have been re-worked to use that imagery.
2. New taxiway lines, paths, signage, and system labeling have been re-worked to match the actual airfield.
3. Airfield lighting has been revised to match the actual airfield.
4. Parking has been re-worked to match the actual airfield. Military-designated parking spots have been added to avoid spawning of civilian AI traffic.
5. Runway paint markings have been enhanced to match current markings at the airfield, including simulated carrier landing areas and field arresting gear markings.
6. To match the current airfield, eight functional optical landing systems have been added to all approaches.
7. Hangars and buildings have been reworked, primarily with stock Asobo objects which are a close match to the actual airfield.
Fentress Naval Auxiliary Landing Field (KNFE): You will perform your FCLP activities at a purpose-built airfield several miles away from NAS Oceana, Fentress NALF. We have applied the following upgrades to the stock MSFS scenery at Fentress:
1. Functional optical landing systems have been added to both approaches.
2. Runway markings have been added to match the actual airfield, including simulated carrier deck landing areas and landing spots for helicopters and VTOL aircraft.
3. As per the current airfield, in-deck directional lighting of the simulated carrier deck landing areas has been added. New runway and taxiway lighting has been added in a dimmed condition to match current procedures for night FCLP operations.
4. Runway materials have been revised to match the current reinforced-concrete landing areas at either end of the runway. Asobo aerial imagery is used for the taxiways and the non-runway airfield environment.
5. Custom buildings have been added for the LSO greenhouses, the on-field U. S. Navy fire station, and the TACAN station described below.
6. The unpublished, "reference-only" TACAN station has been added to the field. This station is an important component of FCLP operations. It can be tuned on channel 27X.
FCLP Mission Package: A set of six missions are included that were created using the simulator's Bush Mission functionality. The primary purpose of these missions is to provide dynamic Air Traffic Control and Landing Signal Officer radio communication during your FCLP work at Oceana and Fentress. These missions provide ATIS, clearance, tower, departure, and arrival radio communications as you are being vectored to and from Fentress NALF. These communications are triggered based on your location and altitude and include both pilot and ATC/LSO communications. These missions will spawn your aircraft at NAS Oceana's west ramp parking. Once you arrive at the Fentress carrier pattern you will be handed off to your Landing Signal Officer who will provide standard verbal corrections during your practice approaches. These six missions include a variety of weather and lighting conditions. A seventh practice mission will spawn you at Fentress NALF if you prefer to depart directly into the carrier pattern rather than being vectored from Oceana.

De Havilland Canada began development of the Dash 8 in the late 1970s in response to what it saw as a considerable market demand for a new generation 30 to 40 seat commuter airliner. The first flight of the first of two preproduction aircraft was on June 20 1983, while Canadian certification was awarded on September 28 1984. The first customer delivery was to NorOntair of Canada on October 23 1984. Like the Dash 7, the Dash 8 features a high-mounted wing and tail and has an advanced flight control system and considerable full-length trailing edge flaps. Production since switched to the improved performance Dash 8-200. Announced in 1992 and delivered from April 1995 the -200 features more powerful PW123C engines which give a 56km/h (30kt) increase in cruising speed, as well as greater commonality with the stretched Dash 8300. From the second quarter of 1996 all Dash 8s delivered have been fitted with a computer-controlled noise and vibration suppression system (or NVS). To reflect this the designation was changed to Dash 8Q (Q for `quiet'). In 1998 that was changed again to Dash 8 Q200 when a new interior was introduced.
Virtualcol takes pride in presenting the second version of the package of three models of this series, the DASH 8-200. This model has analogue instruments with digital PFD and MFD, including the FMS used in all subsequent versions.
This airplane is similar to DASH 8-100, but the differences are basically: the avionics, engine power and this model incorporate the APU. Also, modifications included in the last update for model -100, were included here too.
WARNING: Please bear in mind: This model isn't a study-level model, but for the price, we are sure to offer a product that is as real as possible.

In 1945, Vought Corporation was asked to design a carrier-capable jet which would exceed 600 mph and have a service ceiling of 40,000 feet at 0. 95 Mach. The result was the F7U-1, an unfortunately lackluster aircraft. The plane was redesigned as the F7U-3, with uprated engines and other improvements. Still, the plane was underpowered and suffered many problems, among them a weak nosegear strut which could collapse on a carrier landing and break the pilot's back. The plane suffered from high fuel consumption and engine responsivenes from low revs was far from ideal. However,it was rugged and was known to have pulled over 9 gs on more than one occasion, with at least one visibly bent aircraft after such a maneuver. In all, 307 of all types were produced, 98 of which were the F7U-3M depicted here.

ATC VFR now compatible with MFS2024!
Indeed, ATC VFR 2020 has been revamped to ensure compatibility with Flight Simulator 2024.
Also, some improvement has been made on the interface ! ;)
One thing missing in the simulator to truly practice radio communication is the management of AFIS agents, SIVs, and also Class D controlled airports (ground service, control tower, ATIS).
On MFS2020, these essential flight organizations are poorly modeled or even absent.
This is why TBLFScenery decided to develop ATC VFR.
ATC VFR interfaces with MFS2024 and acts as an AFIS agent, SIV, or air traffic controller.
This add-on uses voice recognition. It detects your phraseology and responds using a sound library containing hundreds of samples. It can guide you during integration, provide parameters, active runway, traffic density, request you to leave the frequency, and more.
Unlike other solutions found online, the recorded voice is a real human voice, which takes immersion to the next level!
The project includes nearly all airfields in France equipped with an AFIS agent (around 60), all SIVs in France, as well as Class D controlled airports (tower, ground, and ATIS).
ATC VFR aims to faithfully replicate official phraseology while respecting the procedures outlined in the SIA VAC charts (frequencies used, circuit altitudes, etc. ).
Here are some features to give you an idea:
- Simple installation
- Phraseology assistance
- P and R zones compliant with AIRAC data
- Real-time activation of AZBA zones
- AI traffic information via SIV
- COM1 and COM2 radio management
- Adjustable radio volume directly on the aircraft's radio
- Configurable "push-to-talk" button on keyboard or joystick
- Real recorded conversations between pilots and SIV for greater immersion
- Option to add more controller voices (available on the TBLFScenery website)
- Frequency values modifiable via configuration files
- And much more…
Please note:
- ATC VFR already integrates all the features of Agent AFIS VFR.
- It operates exclusively in French.
- It is compatible exclusively with MFS2024.
For more information, visit the official page: https://tblfscenery. com/
Although designed to be as realistic as possible, this software is for simulation purposes only.
