Hughes XF-11
In 1943, the Hughes Aircraft Company took order from the USAAF of a hundred military reconnaissance aircraft with an ambitious flight enveloppe including fast altitude, high cruise speed and unbeatable range. Three years later, this first prototype of the XF-11 was born. 6,000 horsepower provided by two Pratt and Whitney 28-cylinders radial beasts. The impressive "Wasp Major". And everything about this aircraft is over the top:
- 16 enormous blades mounted on 2x2 contra-rotating propellers.
- A ceiling altitude of 44,000 feet.
- A cruise speed of 300 knots at 30,000 feet
- And a range of 5,000 Miles (4,300 NM).
Unfortunately this beauty was destroyed during its first flight, ending prematurely the story of the XF-11, but luckily making no casualities.
Today, Flying Fries is proud and honored to present you a virtual replica of this iconic aircraft. We have been scraping old drawings, schematics and low-quality photos for months, and here is the result in all its glory. A fully custom made aircraft, with high quality modeling and texturing, and a unique level of interaction with each system and each switch, down to every single circuit breaker.
The flight model has also been patiently crafted using Asobo's latest tools (CFD, modern propellers, modern fuel system, etc. ).
From the complexity of the electrical and fuel systems to the custom pressurization module or the ground power unit and exterior items that you can operate directly by getting out of the plane and clicking on them, we have pushed the immersion to its maximum.
Take off, set the auto-pilot and explore the vast cockpit of the XF-11. You will start with the pilot and navigator area, but you will also be able to crawl in the nose section into the photographer seat, to take a look through the lens of your camera or just contemplate the world by sitting in the fully transparent glass dome at the nose. And when you're done, you can check on the lower deck that the access door is closed and all 12 fuel valves are properly set.
For the bravest among you, there are some random failures of various severity that could trigger during your flight, making your life much more complicated!
Did we mention the useful clipboard that will allow you to set all your options, check your failures and handle your refueling tasks without opening the in-game fuel menu? And did we mention the many easter eggs that are yours to find?
Here is a comprehensive list of this XF-11 features:
- Highly detailed 4K textures.
- Engines, landing gear bays, two cockpit decks, etc. fully modeled and textured.
- Precise CFD flight model.
- Era-correct auto-pilot installed.
- Random failures available with various severity levels - disabled by default.
- Garmin GNS 530 available with one click.
- Fully compatible with Garmin GTN 750 by PMS50 if installed.
- Aircraft configuration and refueling via the clipboard (no need for the fuel and payload menu).
- Complex electrical system with functioning circuit breakers.
- Complex fuel system with 7 tanks, 10 pumps and so many routing possibilities!
- Variable propeller pitch with feathering and reverse pitch.
- Engine and ground roll vibration effects on the levers and needles.
- Custom interior lighting with dimmable lights and UV lights.
- Interactive exterior static elements (remove the chocks or plug the GPU manually if you want).
- 12 liveries included.
- 4 LODs for performance optimization in multiplayer.
- A lot of custom sound effects.
- Custom visual effects: Epic smoke when you start the engines, fuel leaks, etc.
- Interactive in-game checklists with all the highlits and cameras you need.
- A long, detailed and illustrated user manual.
- A few hidden easter eggs!

Carlisle Airport was originally established as an RAF (RAF Crosby-on-Eden) airfield during World War II in 1941. It served as a military airfield and was used for training purposes and transport base with DC-3s. After the war, the airport continued to operate under military control until it was decommissioned in 1960 and was reopened as a civil airport. Carlisle Airport became a hub for general aviation, offering services such as flying schools, private flights, and cargo operations. It also had brief periods of air passengers flights. The Largest know aircraft to land here was a Pan Am 727 in 1988.
In 2004, the airport faced financial difficulties, leading to its closure. The site was subsequently sold to the Stobart Group, a UK infrastructure and support services company. The Stobart Group had plans to redevelop the airport and integrate it into their wider transportation network. After several years of planning and infrastructure development, Carlisle Lake District Airport officially reopened for commercial flights on July 4, 2019. The airport aimed to serve the Lake District region, a popular tourist destination in the UK. Loganair, a regional airline in the UK, became the main operator at the new Carlisle Airport terminal, offering flights to destinations such as Dublin and London Southend. The airport's reopening was seen as a significant development for the region, providing improved connectivity and supporting tourism and business travel.
However, this was all short-lived due to the Virus effects of 2020 and the decline of air operations. Flights never returned and again Carlisle airport faces a uncertain future. The Airport is still in use today by General aviation and can be host to military exercises in the summer months.

Gees 2.0
Gees: Landing Analysis Addon for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020
Important Information - MSFS2024 Compatibility
The app is partially compatible with MSFS2024. Core functionality works, but I'm not happy with the UI and non-core features.
I’m working on a unified update for MSFS2020 and MSFS2024, though compatibility challenges remain. If a separate app for MSFS2024 is necessary, it will be offered as an upgrade for existing GEES users.
How was my last landing?

I’m working on a unified update for MSFS2020 and MSFS2024, though compatibility challenges remain. If a separate app for MSFS2024 is necessary, it will be offered as an upgrade for existing GEES users.
How was my last landing?
MSFS 2020 is awesome, but it still cannot kick you in the butt and push you to the side upon landing to describe how your landing was. Gees tries to fill in that gap, providing all the details about your landing skills.
Landing Analysis:
Here's what you'll get:
- Landing Rate: Did you get a "fifty, twenty, ten. . . five. . . come on . . . " or a "one hundred, fiftytwentytenthump. . . uh. . . can you check in the back, if the wings are still attached to the plane?"
- G-Force: Are the passengers still unsure if you've landed, or looking around nervously, wondering "is this how it ends"?
- Landing Speed: Similar to landing rate, but in a forward direction.
- Wind Speed and Direction: Did you just land at an untowered airport with a 15kt tailwind?
- Sideslip and Bank: How are your crosswind landings? Did you manage to keep that poor Cessna straight?
- Bounces: How many times did you actually land?
- Landing Location: Did you hit the sweet spot, or end up in the nearby parking lot?
Instant Replay:
Finally, once you've nailed a greaser, right in the middle of the touchdown zone, you forgot to switch on the instant replay recording to see it.
If you enable it, Gees starts and stops the recording for each landing, so you can marvel at your capabilities as a sim pilot.
Installation:
This is an in-game MSFS addon. It does not require the 20th exe file you start before MSFS to access the simple panel.
Installation is done by copying the files into the Community folder, or by simply using the provided Simmarket installer.
All the dialogs, settings, and displays are in-game and can be started, stopped, enabled, or disabled from the sim itself.
Notes:
- The app needs to run to record the landing. There's no close button, so you won't close it by accident. Minimize it, and it will move away from view. Starting and stopping is done by clicking the icon in the top menu bar.
- You can control how "intrusive" the app will be. It can stay visible all the time, or hide and wait for you to open it.
- Landing location is tricky to obtain from the game, as the sim needs to know where you intended to land. As of now, this can only be done using the in-game ATC. Alternatively, you can look back at the instant replay to see the landing location.
- MSFS' replay has its own quirks. There are quite a few of them, and it is what it is. If you've used the in-game one (still noted as experimental), you'll understand. Polishing all these quirks is a big task, and it would shift the focus of this app from landings to replays, so we have to live with them for now.
- History is limited to 100 landings. Storing a lot of data within the sim is a concern. One of the future updates might address exporting this data if there's a demand for it.
Known Issues:
- Users who have set a very high "Minimum Text Size" in their accessibility options may experience a visually distorted interface. However, in vast majority of cases, if the other menus appear typical, the app's appearance will also be normal.
Although developed by the same author, this is a completely separate app from the original, free, and open-source Gees app (https://github. com/scelts/gees). It's much more streamlined, in-game app, and comes with more features. When reporting bugs and requests, please specify which app you are referring to.

The second volume of our popular Antarctica series covers the Australian Antarctic Casey on the opposite side of the continent, right on the mainland: A region of vast glaciers extending for thousands of miles into the continent.
We have included a large area of coastal landscape with its typical penguin colonies, icebergs and – of course – a very detailed base with its helipad and a lot to discover. Take off from here using a helicopter, try to stay low above the detailed rugged terrain, maneuver your way through icebergs and find one of the two icebreakers operating here.
If you’re more into fixed wing operations, no matter if low and slow or high and fast, you can choose between two skiways: The Casey Skiway on the glacier a few kilometers above the base for medium distance operations or the Wilkins Aerodrome about 70 kilometers to the south – well known for its A319-115LR passenger flights (yes, that’s an Airbus on ice!) or C-17 cargo flights between here and Australia.
- Detailed Casey Station with all buildings, a lot of clutter and extremely detailed terrain
- Wilkins Aerodrome Skiway 70 km south of the base (intercontinental and continental operations)
- Casey Skiway (continental operations)
- Lots of animations including animals, vehicles, boats and people, including probably the first animated penguins and chain vehicles in MSFS
- Plenty of custom created sounds of animals and vehicles
- Coverage beyond the base with aerial imagery at various resolutions along the coast
- Hundreds of thousands of animated icebergs in a larger area around the base
- Adelie penguin colonies with thosands and thousands of animals at their real-world locations (performance optimized through instancing)
- An impressive custom fleet of typical animated and static vehicles and clutter
- Carefully crafted landscape to merge with surrounding terrain
- Including updated waterbodies
- Special technique used to bypass ground resolution limitation imposed by MSFS, giving the skiway ground textures a much more detailed layout than most airport add-ons
- Special technique used to add wind shear details to the vast white lands on the glacier
- Extensive manual with detailed information on flying in Antarctica
