This is more than a sound pack. Cockpit2Ground actively reads your aircraft, your flight plan and your environment. It knows which engine start sequence your aircraft uses, whether the GSX tug is a towbar or towbarless type, whether it is raining, what time of day it is and where in the world you are parked. Upington International Airport (FAUP) is an airport located in Upington, Northern Cape, South Africa with the longest runway in Africa at 4. 9 km (16,076 ft)!
Upington Airport was opened in 1968 as Pierre van Ryneveld Airport. From August 1976 to December 1982, South African Airways made use of Upington as a refuelling station for two weekly scheduled Boeing 747 flights to London and Zürich, which is why it has such a long runway. Upington Airport was opened in 1968 as Pierre van Ryneveld Airport. From August 1976 to December 1982, South African Airways made use of Upington as a refuelling station for two weekly scheduled Boeing 747 flights to London and Zürich, which is why it has such a long runway. The runway was built to accommodate a Boeing 747 with a full load of passengers, cargo and fuel, so that it could take off for Europe without having to stop along the way.
In 2006, Upington Airport was updated into a major cargo hub to serve sub-Saharan Africa directly from South Africa's Northern Cape Province. In 2009 a facility was constructed to serve as long-term parking of mothballed (decommissioned) aircraft. Both the improved cargo area and the area for decommissioned aircraft are shown in this scenery package.
As of now, the airport has a modern terminal building and serves as a connection for Airlink flights to and from Upington.

During our research expedition across Greenland, part of the FSimStudios team had the opportunity to extensively survey Ilulissat and its developing new international airport. We are now proud to present what we have been working on: a fully up-to-date, ultra-detailed rendition of Ilulissat Airport (BGJN/JAV), as of September 1, 2026!
Ilulissat is one of Greenland’s most important tourism destinations and the gateway to Disko Bay and the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord. Its existing airport has long relied on a short 845-metre runway, limiting the types of aircraft able to serve the city. That is about to change. The new Ilulissat International Airport, officially scheduled to open in October 2026, features a new 2,200-metre / 7217 feet runway and modern terminal facilities capable of accommodating significantly larger aircraft and direct international operations.
The opening will be marked by an Air Greenland A330neo flight, followed by the introduction of direct scheduled service between Ilulissat and Copenhagen. The longer-term goal of the airport project is to make Ilulissat considerably more accessible from abroad, opening opportunities for additional destinations throughout Europe and North America while strengthening the city’s position as one of Greenland’s principal international gateways.
For a period of time, the existing and new airport facilities will continue to operate simultaneously as operations transition to the new international airport. Our rendition captures this unique moment in Ilulissat’s aviation history, representing both the established airport and the nearly completed international facility as they exist immediately before the official opening.

Terrain and surroundings
- Custom terrain and extensive work around the airport perimeter, reproducing the dramatic Arctic landscape and the substantial terrain modifications made during construction of the new airport
- Several custom landmarks and POIs throughout Ilulissat — Hotel Arctic, Hotel Hvide, the Ilulissat Cultural Center, Pituffik Market and the new Icefjord Centre

- Optimized modelling and texturing throughout the airport and surrounding scenery, delivering extensive detail while maintaining performance

NOTE: The final navigational dataset for the new runway has not yet been released through Navigraph. Once the applicable navdata becomes available, the product will be reviewed and updated if necessary to ensure compatibility with the published navigational data and procedures.
