History
It is one of nine airports in the state of Ceará included in the Federal Government's Regional Aviation Development Plan (PDAR), created in 2012. Construction began in 2011 and was completed in December 2014. The initial forecast was that it would be inaugurated. at the end of March 2015, starting to receive flights as soon as possible, but the inauguration did not take place on the scheduled date. A new date for the start of operations was set for the end of the first semester (June) of 2016. The airline Gol, followed by Azul, was the first to operate at the airport marking its inauguration, although other fixed-wing air taxis and rotary were already operating sporadically.
