It operates at the limit of the capacity of its runways, nwith 536 commercial flights per day, which is equivalent to a landing or takeoff every 2 minutes during its opening hours, from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. nThe Congonhas airport complex covers an area of approximately 1. 6 million square meters, with two runways with a capacity for up to 41 operations per hour, and a passanger terminal with capacity to serve approximately 6,500 passengers per hour . The main runway is equipped with the ALS and ILS instrument landing systems , which allow safe operations in adverse conditions, in addition to reducing closures due to bad weather.
