Captain Vicente Almandos Almonacid Airport (FAA: IRJ - IATA: IRJ - ICAO: SANL), is an airport inaugurated on October 11, 1948, located 6 km northeast of the city of La Rioja, in the Province of The Rioja. It was named in honor of Vicente Almandos Almonacid​ in 1972, a pioneer of aviation in Argentina. It is currently the operational base for air resources of the National Fire Management Plan.
