The building and the runway of the present functioning airport have been put into operation in 1982. As thorough, repairs had not been carried out on the runway and in the airside, the runway had been in a rather bad state.

In 2007, owing to the resources allotted by "Armenia” International Airports” CJSC, the runway has undergone major overhaul and has been completely asphalted (length 3220m, width 45m), a new light-signal system IDMAN of Finnish production has been installed, repair works have been carried out in the ramp and special ground handling technics have been imported. The airport "Shirak” of Gyumri can be considered the second international alternate airport of Armenia.
In 2007 General Department of Civil Aviation at the Government of the Republic of Armenia has granted "Shirak” airport the status of ICAO First Class Airport.

The MSFS scenery is a vast improvement over previous flight sims. However bridges over large waterways, rivers or other bodies of water are very noticeable and are an eyesore destroying realism. Rkbridger packages solve that issue with bridge packages which show the bridges in their true magnificence and also improve the entire landscape, including marinas and river traffic, along the stretch of water modeled. All bridges are modeled in the correct architectural style with appropriate night lighting and with traffic flowing on the bridges.
The last bridge modeled on the Williamette River is the art deco style Oregon City Arch bridge designed by Conde McCullough and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is just down stream from the Williamette Falls and Locks which have also been improved in this package.
The Astoria-Megler Bridge and the Lewis and Clark Bridge were done by Asobo.

No extra software needed. Just put into your community folder, start MSFS and activate in the toolbar.
Instruction
- Run the SoftBrake-Installer. exe
- Select your MSFS community directory
- Installation should be completed, you can open your MSFS now
- Open the SofBrake Settings in the toolbar (soft brake icon with small gear symbol)
- Enter your license code to activate the plugin
- Push your joystick forward, check if the "braking" bar appears on the screen, on the left side
