Its location — on the Via Salaria, north of the city — was conceived in relation to the 1920s layout of Rome. Its proximity and ease of connection to the newly expanding urban districts (Prati, Flaminio, and Trieste) were highlighted.
Being adjacent to a bend of the Tiber river also made it possible to use it as a base for seaplanes—aircraft, widely used at the time, with two-level hangars that allowed takeoffs directly from inside them.
In the 1930s, the airport was the home base of ‹Ala Littoria›, the first Italian flag carrier.
During World War II it was militarized, and in 1943 it was bombed.
In 1945 it hosted the Baltimore Wing of the Allied multinational air force (Royal Air Force, South African Air Force, and New Zealand Air Force).
But the further expansion of the capital city to the north stifled its development, limiting it to its current role: aero club activities, flying schools, sightseeing flights (especially by helicopter), air taxi, and service flights.
The airport area also hosts a Carabinieri helicopter unit and a meteorological station, managed by ENAV but operating in support of the Italian Air Force.
The Italian Air Force also has significant service and lodging facilities for the Logistic and Sports Center of the COMSEV (Command Supporting Top Entities) and has located its Air Force Band at Rome-Urbe.
In 2011, the refurbishment of the aviation infrastructure was completed, and as of June of that year, the new heliport is operational (built and managed by Esperia, a company of the Leonardo Group).
The year before, the passenger terminal had been inaugurated, and by the end of 2025 it will be completely renovated and modernized.

Build an airline. Shape a world. Fly a story only you can tell.
Passenger2x is a next‑generation, stand‑alone add‑on for Microsoft Flight Simulator, X‑Plane, Prepar3D, and Flight Simulator X — designed for simmers who want more than a flight. It gives you the power to create, grow, and manage your own airline, from your very first route to a global network that carries millions.
Start with a single aircraft. Build your brand. Expand your fleet, your routes, your reputation and your legacy.
Every decision matters. Choose the meals you serve, the movies you show, and the loyalty rewards you offer. Set your baggage rules, define your seat pricing, and decide how generous — or strict — your policies will be. Your passengers will notice, and they'll remember.
Passenger2x turns your airline into a living ecosystem. Happy customers return. Unhappy ones don't. Your choices shape your reputation, your revenue, and the future of your airline.
This isn't just management. This is a living simulation where every flight, every service, every announcement, and every passenger reaction is part of a story that evolves with you. Whether you're building a scrappy low‑cost startup or a polished flagship carrier, Passenger2x gives you the tools to create an airline that feels personal, expressive, and unmistakably yours.
Why Passenger2x?
Passenger2x is built for simmers who want more than a flight — they want an airline. It combines strategic management, real‑time simulation, and long‑term progression into a single platform.
- A complete airline management system
- Real‑time passenger simulation
- AI‑driven operations when you're offline
- A full loyalty program unique to Passenger2x
- Deep but accessible systems
- Meaningful progression and long‑term goals
- Designed for modern simulators
- Built to expand with future updates
Passenger2x is the evolution of the Passenger2 ecosystem — a platform designed to grow, improve, and support new features for years to come.
Unlike traditional flight‑sim add‑ons, Passenger2x runs as a complete ecosystem:
- You create your airline
- You build your route network
- You fly the routes yourself
- AI handles flights when you're offline
- Passengers react to your service, flying style, and policies
- Your airline grows based on performance, reputation, and loyalty
Passenger2x is designed to be accessible for new players while offering enough depth for long‑term progression, strategy, and realism.
Choose Your Command Style
Advanced Mode
Full control. Full responsibility.
Advanced Mode gives you complete access to every system — route planning, service customization, loyalty programs, fleet assignments, and passenger feedback. You'll manage fuel costs, delays, moods, and reputation in real time. Perfect for players who want deep strategy, operational realism, and total ownership of their airline.
Simple Mode
Streamlined management. Smart decisions.
Simple Mode keeps the core systems active but reduces the complexity. You'll still manage your fleet but not have to worry about routes and the finances that come with it. Ideal for players who want meaningful control without the pressure of full simulation.
Load & Go
No management. Just fly.
Load & Go lets you skip the setup and jump straight into flying. No routes, no management, the system handles everything for you including service choices. Great for casual sessions, quick flights, or players who want to focus on flying rather than airline management.
AI Keeps Your Airline Moving
Your airline doesn't stop when you do. With Passenger2x AI, your scheduled routes fly automatically. Our AI system follows your schedule, serves your selected menus, and learns your behaviour to maintain passenger satisfaction — just like you would.
Passenger2x AI handles the service, entertainment, and loyalty while your fleet earns money in the background. Whether you're offline, managing other tasks, or simply taking a break, your airline keeps growing. It's a smart system that works for you, keeping your business alive and your passengers flying.
Loyalty That Drives Growth
Build your own frequent flyer program. Track satisfaction, reward repeat passengers, and grow your air mile club. Happy passengers spend more, fly often, and help your airline rise through the ranks. It's not just about one flight — it's about building long‑term trust.
Customize Every Cabin Experience
Choose meals, drinks, entertainment, and layout for each route. Passenger2x lets you tailor the onboard experience to match your brand — from budget snacks to luxury menus, from quiet flights to full cinematic immersion. Your service choices directly affect passenger mood, reviews, and repeat business.

Hello my name is Paulo Figueiredo I am known as Tchockozzo (Surname), I am the creator of this scenario for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 - MSFS2024. Let me introduce myself better to you.
I'm son of a pilot and a lover of aviation and simulation. My father, "Mário Figueiredo, known as Canarinho," flew extensively on the well-known and challenging mining airstrips, places my father braved with great courage, precision, and skill, transporting everything to and from the mines in the states of Amazonas, Pará, and Roraima in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Hence my passion for this type of aviation in the Amazon.
With this scenario you will find the biggest challenges ever seen in Flight Simulator 2024, such as very short runways, some only 250 meters long, runways with uneven terrain, runways surrounded by trees that are over 25 meters high, that is, runways where the wingtips barely fit. Here, your concentration and professionalism is what will differentiate whether you will do well or badly.
With this scenario of 160 Land Strips Pack for a Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the virtual pilot will have a glimpse of the challenging and risky flight conditions of the Amazon,
such as landing or taking off from very short runways where the pilot has no margin for error.
I DID A VIDEO AND POST ON MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL SHOWING WHAT YOU WILL GET
