EDWS - Norden-Norddeich
The special airfield of Norden-Norddeich with its ICAO registry EDWS is located on the northernmost stretch of mainland of the Landkreis Aurich, northern Germany. Norden-Norddeich provides an important access point to the East Frisian Islands and is home to the HTM company, responsible for transporting personnel and materials to offshore wind farms like Alpha Ventus. The airfield is operated by the FLN FRISIA (“Inselflieger”), transporting tourists and island workers to the East Frisian Islands (and Heligoland in the summer) on scheduled flights, using multiple Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander. It features a 720-meter-long and 20-meter-wide asphalt runway – unusually oriented north to south and therefore often requiring spectacular landing maneuvers due to crosswinds.

EDFR - Rothenburg Airfield
Welcome to the Rothenburg ob der Tauber EDFR commercial airfield, probably one of the most popular approach destinations for VFR pilots due to its beautiful location and the lovely old town of Rothenburg, which can be quickly reached by rental bikes.
The airfield is located at 1309 ft. which corresponds to 399 m, about 3 kilometres east of the town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
Starting in 1957, flying took place on the current site, which was then expanded into an airfield in 1960 and in... Welcome to the Rothenburg ob der Tauber EDFR commercial airfield, probably one of the most popular approach destinations for VFR pilots due to its beautiful location and the lovely old town of Rothenburg, which can be quickly reached by rental bikes.
The airfield is located at 1309 ft. which corresponds to 399 m, about 3 kilometres east of the town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
Starting in 1957, flying took place on the current site, which was then expanded into an airfield in 1960 and in the course of the 1960s, two hangars and a workshop were added. Originally, the runway was asphalted to 450m in the 70s, before it was extended to 600m and a tower was built. From 1980, the runway was given permission for customs and passenger handling, and in 2003 the runway was extended to just under 1000m.
Today the runway has dimensions of 950m x 20m asphalt with alignments RWY 03 and RWY 21, the runway round elevation is 2500ft. MSL (Main Sea Level).
The radio frequency is 126. 360 and the maximum take-off weight (MTOW) is 5700kg for all aircraft. The Aero Club Rothenburg o. d. T. e. V. is located at the airfield and has about 150 members in the field of powered flight, gliding and ultralight.
The airfield has several service buildings, a tower, six hangars and a restaurant. The fuel station contains JETA1 as well as AVGAS.
The special thing about Rothenburg is the approach, which takes place around a slope near the airfieldas a reward for a nice flight, you then borrow bicycles and experience a wonderful day in the historic district of Rothenburg, 3 km away.

EDQH - Herzogenaurach Airfield
Herzogenaurach EDQH airfield is located northwest of the city of Herzogenaurach and lies at 1070 ft (326 m above sea level).
The original airfield has a historical background dating back to 1935, when it was used for the purpose of a military airfield - at that time fighter squadrons of the Luftwaffe were stationed there. After the war, the airfield was used as a Herzo Base under the flag of the Allied occupation forces and it was not until 1960 that the first flying club set out to establis... Herzogenaurach EDQH airfield is located northwest of the city of Herzogenaurach and lies at 1070 ft (326 m above sea level).

After the war, the airfield was used as a Herzo Base under the flag of the Allied occupation forces and it was not until 1960 that the first flying club set out to establish its own airfield, at that time with a grass runway. In 1961, a 700 m grass runway was then accepted by the authorities and in 1970 the airfield was upgraded to a commercial airfield and with it the runway was finally paved.
Today Herzogenaurach is a popular destination for pilots. There are several farm buildings, a tower as well as a large hangar and a restaurant. There is also a refuelling facility for the respective aircraft types.
The restaurant with its beautiful beer garden offers a wonderful view directly onto the runway. The approach to Herzogenaurach is demanding, because the airfield is located in the middle of the control zone of the Nuremberg Airport EDDN.
Approaches and departures are permitted up to a maximum of 3500 ft, since above this level the control zone C begins as controlled airspace - directly adjacent to the airfield is the control zone and thus the airspace of Nuremberg Airport, which may not be flown without permission.
The runway alignments of the airfield are runways 08 and 26, the asphalt runway has a dimension of 700 x 20 m.

The airfield Regensburg-Oberhub [ICAO: EDNR] is a developed commercial airfield 16 km north of Regensburg. The airfield is operated by the Motorfluggruppe Regensburg e. V.
The airfield is located at an altitude of 1298 ft (396 m) and has the radio frequency 120. 430. The asphalted runway is 645 m long, has a landing light for night flight and 15 m wide and has the alignments 10 and 28 - eastward with a gradient.

Gradually in the 60's a clubhouse, an aircraft hangar and a gas station were built - here you can get AVGAS and MOGAS. In 2021 the runway was restored and extended. There is also a local flight school through the flight sports group.
The airfield is approved for all aircraft up to 2000 kg maximum take-off weight (MTOW), helicopters require an extra permit. Due to the landing lights, the airfield can also be approached at night according to PPR regulations (prior notification).
The airfield has an incredible charm with the buildings and the small cosy restaurant. Here an elderly lady cooks in a small cosy kitchen probably the best homemade Schnitzel, still originally breaded and in a frying pan on the stove - and that at sensationally fair prices. When visiting the place, you can have nice conversations with the resident pilots and club members and enjoy the idyll of this higher situated place.
Even if it is a bit far from Regensburg itself, this place is a true general aviation pearl and definitely worth a visit.

The airfield Deggendorf EDMW is an uncontrolled special airfield, i. e. , there is a radio frequency 122. 030 with takeoff and landing recommendations. The airfield is located about 5km from the city of Deggendorf. It is operated by the air sports club Deggendorf-Plattling. North of the airfield the best landmark is the Donau with its bridges.

Welcome to the Biberach EDMB airfield in Baden-Württemberg. Biberach is beautifully located in the heart of Upper Swabia near the Federsee and to the Swabian Alb at an elevation of 1903 ft (580 m) and a fantastic destination for VFR pilots. From the airfield you can quickly get to Biberach or Ulm by rental car or bicycle.

There is the Motorflugverein LSV Biberach e. V. with about 90 active members and owns several single engine aircraft.
South of the asphalt runway is a glider runway, which is operated by the glider group of the Luftsportverein Biberach e. V. with both winch and aerotow. A cosy restaurant with a terrace and a view of the flying action rounds out the airfield as an excursion destination for non-pilots as well.

EDPA - Aalen-Heidenheim/Elchingen
The commercial airfield Aalen-Heidenheim is located 15 km southeast of Aalen, BadenWürttemberg. Owner and operator of the airfield is the association Luftsportring Aalen e. V. , which meanwhile has more than 560 members. On 07. 03. 1954 the airfield was used for the first time by pilots from Aalen. In the following years the airfield was developed into a real airfield with a lot of love, work and effort as well as hard work of the members.

The Aalen-Heidenheim airfield is also home to the Aalen Elchingen Flying Museum. Here, numerous gems from civil aviation can be admired. Among them are a De Havilland DH83 Fox Moth, De Havilland Dragon Rapide, an Antonov An-2, a Texan T6 and a Beechcraft 17 Staggerwing. The museum is definitely worth a visit and is a great destination for GA pilots.
Numerous maintenance facilities are also located in Aalen and are certified maintenance facilities for many flying clubs and flight schools. For example, many machines of the flight school Jesenwang are maintained in Aalen.
Aalen also has a cozy restaurant with a beautiful terrace and stunning views of the runway-it's not for nothing that Aalen is considered one of the most beautiful commercial airfields in all of Germany.

Landshut is located northeast of Munich Airport EDDM next to Moosburg at an altitude (elevation) of 1312 ft (400 m above MSL). The runways are aligned to the east with RWY 07 and the runway to the west with RWY 25 with a runway length of 900m and 23m width.

Landshut is located northeast of Munich Airport EDDM next to Moosburg at an altitude (elevation) of 1312 ft (400 m above MSL). The runways are aligned to the east with RWY 07 and the runway to the west with RWY 25 with a runway length of 900m and 23m width.
After five years of planning, the construction of the airfield was started in 1961, and officially the airfield was opened on August 26, 1962.
The air sports club Landshut then began flight operations with a single hangar and a grass runway, and later in 1967 a restaurant and a tower were added. Since 2002, the municipal utility company of Landshut is the owner of the airfield and the "Landen in Landshut GmbH" is the official operator. The airfield has had an intense past with airfield opponents, but fortunately it could be preserved and also modernized until today. The airfield is an uncontrolled airfield without control zone - due to the proximity to the airspace Charlie of Munich control zone with 3500 ft the approach as well as departure must be made here with special care and attention - the airfield round height is 2500 ft MSL as north airfield round. Special attention must also be paid to the localities and noise regulations during departure.
