Known Limitations

Whilst we’ve tried to endeavour to spawn the aircraft on the threshold of the runway, whilst the position is correct, the heading of the aircraft might be not aligned correctly to the runway. However, when taking off, realign the aircraft and you are good to go!

The aircraft can roll on spawn due to the slope of the runway, just be prepared to apply the parking brake on spawn.

There has been the rare occasion where the aircraft spawns in the air, a simple reload of the scenario has fixed that.

Waypoints on the ND won't show the actual waypoint and instead shows a custom waypoint until MSFS is updated with a fix.
We are working on these issues and will deploy a fix to these as soon as we are able.

With the conclusion of World War II, Wickenby Airfield’s role shifted. It was briefly used for post-war trials of jet aircraft before being decommissioned by the RAF in 1956. At this point, the airfield transitioned into private ownership. In the decades that followed, Wickenby Airfield underwent a renaissance. The airfield found new life as a hub for general aviation, flying clubs, and vintage aircraft enthusiasts. A passionate community of aviation enthusiasts and historians worked tirelessly to preserve its wartime heritage.
Numerous vintage aircraft, including iconic Spitfires and Hurricanes, were restored to their former glory on the airfield’s grounds. The Wickenby Museum, established in 1987, became a custodian of the airfield’s history, housing an extensive collection of artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia that chronicle its wartime and post-war eras.
Today, Wickenby Airfield is a thriving testament to the enduring legacy of aviation. It offers visitors a unique opportunity to step back in time and immerse themselves in its rich history. Vintage aircraft still grace its runways, and the airfield hosts fly-in events, airshows, and flight experiences that continue to captivate aviation enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
Wickenby has been faithfully recreated by Burning Blue Design, undertaking on-site visits to ensure the highest levels of accuracy. It features:

- Transparent and translucent glass panes can appear very dark when subject to particle effects such as rain, snow and fog. This is a known bug that Asobo/Microsoft are aware of and will hopefully fix in the near future.
- When multiple sceneries are installed in the same area a bug showing the underlying stock photogrammetry can occur. This is a known bug which was introduced in SU11, Asobo/Microsoft are aware of it and will hopefully fixed in the near future.
