CRL2 - Westport / Rideau Lakes Airport On Sale
Rideau Lakes Airport is located just south of the town of Westport, in rural Eastern Ontario. It is surrounded by forests and lakes, and has a single grass/gravel runway, a handful of old hangars, and is home to the Rideau Lakes Flying Club. It occasionally hosts fly-in events for light aircraft and camping under the wing is permitted. There is a scenic lake-side approach for runway 25 and a more challenging one over the trees for runway 07. The grass runway can be tricky to spot and line up for... With an altitude difference of almost 50 (!) meters between both ends of the runway, pilots have only one direction to land and take off, regardless of the winds, which often make both manouvers a real challenge.
