The major hub for the Norwegian Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) and the Norwegian Widerøe airline exists since 1914 and operates the very busy route between Trondheim and Oslo, amongst others. Værnes Church, the oldest preserved stone building in Norway, is located south-east of the Airport. Approaching the airport from the east, it is visible on the left-hand side. Services are provided by Widerøe using Dash 8-100 aircraft to other communities in Finnmark and to Tromsø Airport.

The airport had 201,686 passengers in 2014, making it the busiest regional airport in the country.

CHC Helikopter Service operates an AS332 Super Puma search and rescue helicopter out of Florø on behalf of The Royal Norwegian Air Force's 330 Squadron.
Construction of an airport first commenced in 1956, but was terminated. Florø Airport opened as part of a network of four regional airports on 1 July 1971. Widerøe served it with de Havilland Canada Twin Otters, later also de Havilland Canada Dash 7s. The heliport opened in 1994 and the runway was extended from the original 830 meters (2,720 ft) in 2000. That year Coast Air took over the routes from Widerøe. Danish Air Transport resumed them in 2003 until Widerøe again won back the operations in 2012. The search and rescue base opened in 2009. There are proposals to extend the runway further.

Geirangerfjord, Norway
The Geiranger Fjord (Norwegian: Geirangerfjorden) is a fjord located in the Sunnmøre region of Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It lies entirely within the Stranda Municipality and extends 15 kilometers (9. 5 miles) as a branch off the Sunnylvsfjorden, which itself is a branch of the Storfjorden (Great Fjord). At the fjord's end, where the Geirangelva river flows into it, is the small village of Geiranger.
Surrounded by some of the steepest mountains on Norway's west coast, the fjord is very ... Surrounded by some of the steepest mountains on Norway's west coast, the fjord is very narrow with no habitable shore area. The precipitous heights rise almost vertically from the water, with rugged strata and foaming waterfalls cascading from jagged peaks. Despite the challenging terrain, a few mountain farms exist here. Some of these farms are accessible only by hazardous paths winding around steep precipices and bridges anchored to the mountain with iron bolts and rings, showcasing the remarkable ingenuity developed in response to nature's challenges.
The two most notable waterfalls in the Geiranger Fjord are the Seven Sisters Falls and the Suitor (Nynorsk: Friaren). These falls face each other across the fjord, with the Suitor said to be wooing the sisters opposite. Another waterfall, the Bridal Veil, is named for its delicate descent over a rocky edge, appearing like a thin veil when backlit by the sun.
