Edu Chaves de Paranavaí Airport was inaugurated on March 14, 1976 by governor Jayme Canet Júnior and mayor Benedito Pinto Dias. Accompanied by secretaries of State, Canet arrived in Paranavaí the day before, after visiting some municipalities in the region to lay the foundation stone for the paving of state highways. He came from Paranacity in a helicopter to Paranavaí. In the edition of Tuesday, March 16, 1976, Jornal Diário do Noroeste published the report with the headline: “More than 15 thou...
