Trieste Airport (IATA: TRS, ICAO: LIPQ) is an Italian airport in Friuli-Venezia Giulia (and largest for the transport of people in the region itself) located in the municipality of Ronchi dei Legionari, 30 km northwest of Trieste , 21 km southwest of Gorizia, and 38 km south of Udine, along the Venezia Giulia state road 14. The first airport structure in the territory of Ronchi dei Legionari is the training ground of the 4th Fighter Wing in 1935. The 17th Fighter Group was stationed here from July 1943 until 8 September 1943.
In the fifties, the area was chosen as the seat of the civil airport, which began operations on 2 December 1961: a Douglas DC-3 of the Mediterranean airline company took off for Rome, inaugurating commercial connections. In 1978 the track was extended to the current 3,000 meters. The control tower that still manages the traffic of the airport was inaugurated in 1982. In 1998 the expansion and modernization works of the airport were completed, allowing a capacity of 1. 5 million passengers per year. An airport is also built for the freight sector.
On 9 June 2011, the regional council approved the development of an intermodal hub that would extend within an area of 475,000 m² between the airport and the current Venice-Trieste railway line, which runs 250 meters from the terminal. On March 19, 2018, the new intermodal hub was inaugurated which consists of a new railway station called "Trieste Airport-Ronchi dei Legionari" connected to the passenger terminal via an elevated walkway 425 meters long. A new bus and coach station equipped with 16 stalls, a multi-storey car park with 500 seats and a ground level car park with 1000 seats.

Newark Liberty International Airport (IATA: EWR, ICAO: KEWR, FAA LID: EWR), originally Newark Metropolitan Airport and later Newark International Airport, is an international airport straddling the boundary between the cities of Newark in Essex County and Elizabeth in Union County, New Jersey. On August 3, 1927, Newark's mayor, Thomas Raymond ordered plans for a new airport as people and organizations began calling for a new airport in the area of Newark. Construction began on April 1, 1928. The airport opened on October 1, 1928, as the Newark Metropolitan Airport. It was the first major airport to serve the New York metropolitan area and the first airport in the United States with a paved airstrip.
The nation's first air traffic control tower and airport weather station opened at Newark in 1930 (following a flight that crashed outside of Kansas City, killing five people, including a U. The Art Deco-style Newark Metropolitan Airport Administration Building, adorned with murals by Arshile Gorky, was built in 1934 and dedicated by Amelia Earhart in 1935. It served as the terminal and a control tower until the opening of the North Terminal in 1953. Construction of the Brewster Hangar began in 1937 and continued through 1938. This hangar was the most advanced of its time. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and is now a museum and Port Authority Police headquarters.
After the hijacking and crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in the September 11 attacks in 2001 while en route from Newark to San Francisco, the airport's name was changed from Newark International Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport in 2002. This name was chosen over the initial proposal, Liberty International Airport at Newark, and pays tribute to the victims of the September 11 attacks and to the Statue of Liberty.
In 2016, the Port Authority approved and announced a redevelopment plan to replace Terminal A, set to fully open in 2022.

Military historian John Keegan called it "the most stunning and decisive blow in the history of naval warfare", while naval historian Craig Symonds called it "one of the most consequential naval engagements in world history, ranking alongside Salamis, Trafalgar, and Tsushima Strait, as both tactically decisive and strategically influential".
The now-defunct Midway Airlines that once serviced the airport took its name from the airport, not vice versa. The airfield is located in a square mile bounded by 55th and 63rd Streets, and Central and Cicero Avenues. The current terminal complex was completed in 2001.
The terminal bridges Cicero Avenue and contains 43 gates with facilities for international passengers. The Stevenson Expressway (I-55) runs adjacent to the airport, heading northeast to Downtown Chicago and southwest to various suburbs. The CTA rapid transit Orange Line provides transit to Downtown Chicago where it connects with other subway/elevated rapid transit lines.
Chicago Midway International Airport covers just over one square mile (650 acres or 260 hectares) and has five runways. Midway is surrounded by buildings and other development, so the landing thresholds of the runways are displaced to provide obstacle clearance. The FAA and the airlines ensure safety by adhering to calculated load limits and various weather minimums.
Because of the displaced landing thresholds, the runways have shorter distances available for landings than for takeoffs. 13C/31C, the longest runway, only has an available landing distance of 6,059 feet (1,847 m) in the southeast direction, and 5,826 feet (1,776 m) to the northwest. The largest aircraft normally seen at Midway is the Boeing 757. Normally, commercial planes only take off from and land on runways 4R/22L and 13C/31C. The other runways are used by smaller aircraft and, per the US FAA Chart Supplement are restricted from use by large commercial aircraft except in emergency.

The G-44A is an American high-wing, twin-engine, amphibious light aircraft produced by the Grumman Aerospace Corporation. nnIn the late 1930s, Grumman envisioned a smaller version of its G-21 Goose, which had proven successful as a business transport aircraft. Called the Widgeon, the prototype of the aircraft first flew in July of 1940, intended for the civil market. World War II intervened, however, and the production aircraft entered service for the militaries of the United States and Britain.... The G-44A is an American high-wing, twin-engine, amphibious light aircraft produced by the Grumman Aerospace Corporation. nnIn the late 1930s, Grumman envisioned a smaller version of its G-21 Goose, which had proven successful as a business transport aircraft. Called the Widgeon, the prototype of the aircraft first flew in July of 1940, intended for the civil market. World War II intervened, however, and the production aircraft entered service for the militaries of the United States and Britain. At the end of the conflict, Grumman revisited the civilian concept for the airframe and released the G-44A Widgeon. The G-44A, with seating for six including the pilot, quickly became well-known as a reliable, durable machine eminently capable of operation from both land and water, notably in austere and remote areas like those of Alaska. nnThe Widgeon is driven by two wing-mounted Ranger 6-440-C5 six-cylinder engines that each produce 200 horsepower.
