After five years and over two billion dollars in renovations, Portland International Airport is ready for business. Now you can fly the latest and greatest version of this incredible airport in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Former Portlander Bill Womack returns with a massively updated version for sim pilots. This version of KPDX took far longer than the original to complete, primarily owing to the real-world project being a work in progress. We have had assistance from several PDX employees on the ground whose help was invaluable, providing photos and feedback at every step of development and testing. Using available plans and drawings, we've accomplished something rare in the sim scenery world - we've finished the sim airport ahead of the real thing! The final phase of terminal construction is slated to be completed very late in 2025, but in MSFS you don't have to wait to enjoy the end result.
We spent countless hours adding details, and optimizing this version for the best simulator experience yet. The result, we think you'll agree, is the definitive version of this iconic, and delightful airport. And don't forget to stop and pet the therapy llamas on your way through the terminal.
KPDX2 includes:
- Highly detailed rendition of the airport as it will look at the end of 2025
- New terminal building
- New B concourse
- New E concourse extension
- The terminal and concourses have full interiors
- Many new buildings and garages
- Completely re-worked ground textures
- Expanded taxiway sign network
- Four new custom jetways, complete with branding
- Animated features such as flags and a Tri-Met Max light rail train
- Includes custom GSX Pro profile that you can enjoy on day 1

Joseph Sablatnig (Joseph Sablatnig was owner of the Fokker-Sablatnig, Deutsche Flugzeuge, Deutsche Motoren, Flugzeug Gesellschaft mbH, Berlin) were the first men in the sky over Carinthia and Klagenfurt.
In World War I and II, the airport of Klagenfurt was operated as a military airfield, and indeed Klagenfurt Airport was founded in 1914 as a military airport. The civil opening of Klagenfurt Airport on 17 May 1925, was an event for the City of Klagenfurt as well as for Carinthia.
In June 1929, the pilot hero of World War I, Julius Fedrigoni Edler von Etschthal, has the function of flight director of the airport until 1939.
After the end of World War II, Julius Fedrigoni was returned to Annabichl, he worked with low-budget flight operations. On 1 January 1952, Korv. Kpt. Julius Fedrigoni founded the Committee city of Klagenfurt and he was flight director until 1956.
Already in the years 1926 to 1938, seven airlines operated from Klagenfurt Airport. Countries like Germany, Italy, Yugoslavia and of course domestic flights to all major cities in Austria were connected with Klagenfurt. After 1950, the airport was connected with countries like Brazil, Israel, Venezuela, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom and others.
Recent developments
In spring 2014 the airport's home carrier Austrian Airlines announced the closure of their ticketing and service counters at Klagenfurt Airport due to decreasing demand, additional services will be instead provided directly at the check-in counters. [3] In April 2015, Austrian Airlines also announced that a closure of their domestic route to Vienna is under consideration within the next few years based on economic reasons. [4] In the same year, the state government announced plans to partly sell its stakes in the airport to private investors.
As the airport suffered from a major decrease of passenger numbers in recent years it has been suggested by the management to establish major logistics and cargo operators here, which might be supported by the freight shipment operations handled at the relatively closely located harbours of the Adriatic Sea. The airport already features road and rail connections. [6] However, Austrian Airlines stated later that the airport is not sufficient for cargo operations due to noise complaints and the night curfew. [4]
In October 2015, the Austrian military announced it would end all operations and close its helicopter base at Klagenfurt Airport by the end of 2015.
In August 2020, Ryanair announced plans to leave the airport and terminate their route to Palma de Mallorca Airport, which had been operated as a wetlease by Lauda.

Barcelona–El Prat Airport (IATA: BCN, ICAO: LEBL) (Catalan: Aeroport de Barcelona – el Prat, Spanish: Aeropuerto de Barcelona-El Prat), also known as Barcelona Airport, is an international airport located 12 km (7. 5 mi) southwest of the centre of Barcelona, Spain, lying in the municipalities of El Prat de Llobregat, Viladecans, and Sant Boi.
It is the main airport of Catalonia, the second largest in Spain behind Madrid Barajas Airport and one of the busiest in the world. In 2015 Barcelona Airport handled a record 39. 7 million passengers, up 5. 7% from 2014. It is a main base for the main Spanish airlines like Vueling and a hub for Iberia or Air Europa, as well as the Irish low-cost giant Ryanair and the Irish carrier Norwegian Air International. The airport mainly serves domestic European destinations, also having flights to North America (United States of America and Canada), South America (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Peru), Middle East (Egypt, Israel, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar), Asia (China, Singapore and South Korea), and Africa (Senegal, Gambia, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Ghana and Cape Verde).
The Barcelona–Madrid air shuttle service, known as the "Puente Aereo" (in Spanish), or "Pont Aeri" (in Catalan) literally "Air Bridge", was the world's busiest route until 2008, with the highest number of flight operations (971 per week) in 2007. The schedule has been reduced since February 2008, when a Madrid–Barcelona high-speed rail line was opened, covering the distance in 2 hours 30 minutes, and quickly became popular.

YSWS - Western Sydney Airport
YSWS Western Sydney International Airport, officially known as Nancy-Bird Walton International Airport (ICAO: YSWS, IATA: WSI), is Australia’s first major greenfield airport development in decades. YSWS Western Sydney International Airport, officially known as Nancy-Bird Walton International Airport (ICAO: YSWS, IATA: WSI), is Australia’s first major greenfield airport development in decades. Located in the Badgerys Creek and Luddenham region, around 44 kilometers west of Sydney’s central business district, the airport was designed to meet the long-term aviation needs of the Greater Sydney region and the country as a whole. As a curfew-free facility with a masterplanned layout, it represents a new era of connectivity, infrastructure, and opportunity for both passengers and freight. From its inception, the project was envisioned to relieve pressure on the existing Kingsford Smith Airport, which operates under significant curfew restrictions and is surrounded by dense urban development. Western Sydney Airport offers unrestricted 24-hour operations and has been integrated into one of the most ambitious transport and development plans in the region’s history. At the core of the airport’s first phase is a 3. 7-kilometer runway (05/23) paired with a state-of-the-art terminal capable of handling both domestic and international flights. The initial terminal capacity is designed for around five million passengers annually, with future expansion expected to accommodate more than eighty million by the 2060s. The airport sits at the heart of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis - a large-scale economic and infrastructure precinct that combines logistics, science, education, agribusiness, advanced manufacturing, health, and research industries into a single integrated development zone. This zone is expected to generate tens of thousands of jobs and attract billions in private and public investment over the coming decades. The airport acts as a catalyst for long-term growth, positioning Greater Western Sydney as a global hub for innovation and industry. Western Sydney Airport is designed with future expansion in mind. Foundations for a second runway and additional terminal facilities were planned from the beginning. Its design includes wide, open concourses, flexible gate infrastructure, and intuitive wayfinding to allow seamless movement between domestic and international operations. The terminal architecture is inspired by natural forms and local heritage, blending sandstone, native landscaping, and regional cultural motifs into a space that feels both modern and deeply connected to its environment. One of the defining features of the airport is its integration with surrounding transportation systems. A dedicated motorway - the M12 - connects the terminal directly to Sydney’s road network, while a newly built 23-kilometer metro rail line links the airport to key suburban centers and the wider city. This ensures convenient access for passengers, staff, and cargo, and supports the airport’s role as a fully connected multimodal transport hub. Sustainability and innovation are also core elements of the project. The airport terminal features extensive solar energy arrays, rainwater harvesting systems, and passive climate control mechanisms. It is also the site of Australia’s first digital air traffic control facility, using high-resolution remote camera systems instead of a traditional control tower. The airport’s apron layout, lighting systems, and taxiway structure are designed for high efficiency, minimizing taxi times and reducing emissions from ground operations. Western Sydney itself is one of Australia’s most diverse and fastest-growing regions. With a population exceeding 2. 5 million and increasing every year, the area around the airport represents a dynamic mix of residential, commercial, and natural landscapes. The arrival of a major international airport in this region has brought significant urban transformation, infrastructure development, and economic uplift. Educational institutions, research centers, and corporate headquarters have started to establish a presence in the surrounding precincts, building a strong ecosystem around the airport. In addition to passenger services, the airport is a key freight hub. A dedicated cargo precinct supports 24-hour operations and is linked directly to road and rail freight corridors. It is capable of handling hundreds of thousands of tonnes of goods annually, supporting both domestic logistics and international trade. With high ceilings, wide-body aircraft capacity, and purpose-built warehousing, the freight area is among the most advanced in the country. For Microsoft Flight Simulator users, YSWS Western Sydney Airport MSFS recreates this impressive new facility with precision and realism. The scenery includes high-resolution ground imagery, custom-modeled terminal interiors, dynamic lighting, accurately placed apron objects, and animated metro trains. Runway lighting, signage, and approach aids are implemented according to current aviation standards. Performance has been optimized using level-of-detail modeling throughout, allowing smooth operation without compromising visual quality. Whether used as a domestic hub, a long-haul gateway, or a cargo operations center, YSWS offers a unique flight simulation experience. It reflects the ambition and scale of modern aviation infrastructure and brings to life a major airport that will shape the future of Sydney and Australia for generations to come.
Our YSWS MSFS scenery sets a new standard for realism and performance. Built with high-resolution drone-derived ground textures, full PBR materials, custom lighting systems, animated service vehicles and metro trains, and hand-crafted interior spaces, every inch of the airport is optimized for both immersion and performance. Static service elements and detailed apron wear add life and realism, while seamless LODs ensure a smooth experience across all systems.
High-quality model of YSWS Western Sydney Airport, featuring the up-to-date version with extensive details throughout the whole airport
FPS-friendly design, with epic night textures, dynamic lighting and PBR materials
High definition mesh including exact runway profile
Performance-friendly interior modeling, a variety of static aircraft, advanced night lighting, animated metro trains, vehicles, jetways, people, elevators, luggage conveyor belts, escalators

The MSFS scenery is a vast improvement over previous flight sims. However bridges over large waterways, rivers or other bodies of water are very noticeable and are an eyesore destroying realism. Rkbridger packages solve that issue with bridge packages which show the bridges in their true magnificence and also improve the entire landscape, including marinas and river traffic, along the stretch of water modeled. All bridges are modeled in the correct architectural style with appropriate night lighting and with traffic flowing on the bridges.
The last bridge modeled on the Williamette River is the art deco style Oregon City Arch bridge designed by Conde McCullough and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is just down stream from the Williamette Falls and Locks which have also been improved in this package.
The Astoria-Megler Bridge and the Lewis and Clark Bridge were done by Asobo.
