Performance
Designed with performance in mind. Despite the amount of detail added to the Grand Canal, the scenery performs well. On my Intel i9-10850K and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090, I get approximately 90 FPS in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 at 1080p with high settings.

Welcome to Ilulissat! The "Iceberg Capital of the World" and the most touristed city in Greenland!
During our research expedition across Greenland, part of the FSimStudios team had the opportunity to extensively survey Ilulissat and its developing new international airport. With the incredible cooperation of Air Greenland, we are proud to present what we have been working on: a fully up-to-date, ultra-detailed rendition of Ilulissat Airport (BGJN/JAV), as of September 1, 2026!
Ilulissat is... Welcome to Ilulissat! The "Iceberg Capital of the World" and the most touristed city in Greenland!
During our research expedition across Greenland, part of the FSimStudios team had the opportunity to extensively survey Ilulissat and its developing new international airport. With the incredible cooperation of Air Greenland, we are proud to present what we have been working on: a fully up-to-date, ultra-detailed rendition of Ilulissat Airport (BGJN/JAV), as of September 1, 2026!
Ilulissat is one of Greenland’s most important tourism destinations and the gateway to Disko Bay and the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord. Its existing airport has long relied on a short 845-metre runway, limiting the types of aircraft able to serve the city. That is about to change. The new Ilulissat International Airport, officially scheduled to open in October 2026, features a new 2,200-metre / 7217 feet runway and modern terminal facilities capable of accommodating significantly larger aircraft and direct international operations.
The opening will be marked by an Air Greenland A330neo flight, followed by the introduction of direct scheduled service between Ilulissat and Copenhagen. The longer-term goal of the airport project is to make Ilulissat considerably more accessible from abroad, opening opportunities for additional destinations throughout Europe and North America while strengthening the city’s position as one of Greenland’s principal international gateways.
For a period of time, the existing and new airport facilities will continue to operate simultaneously as operations transition to the new international airport. Our rendition captures this unique moment in Ilulissat’s aviation history, representing both the established airport and the nearly completed international facility as they exist immediately before the official opening.

Terrain and surroundings
- Custom terrain and extensive work around the airport perimeter, reproducing the dramatic Arctic landscape and the substantial terrain modifications made during construction of the new airport
- Several custom landmarks and POIs throughout Ilulissat — Hotel Arctic, Hotel Hvide, the Ilulissat Cultural Center, Pituffik Market and the new Icefjord Centre

- Optimized modelling and texturing throughout the airport and surrounding scenery, delivering extensive detail while maintaining performance

NOTE: The final navigational dataset for the new runway has not yet been released through Navigraph. Once the applicable navdata becomes available, the product will be reviewed and updated if necessary to ensure compatibility with the published navigational data and procedures.

Notre Dame
Notre Dame scenery a complete rebuild to the area around the Notre Dame Cathedral. Bridges; gardens; buildings; water; Notre Dame Cathedral front; traffic; parked cars; trees; photogrammetry have all been fixed around this iconic location. The front of the Cathedral have been completely rebuild to the highest details possible featuring 8k textures. Every single form or shape is not clearly visible on this iconic Cathedral facade now capable of producing lights effects around it as never before... Notre Dame scenery a complete rebuild to the area around the Notre Dame Cathedral. Bridges; gardens; buildings; water; Notre Dame Cathedral front; traffic; parked cars; trees; photogrammetry have all been fixed around this iconic location. The front of the Cathedral have been completely rebuild to the highest details possible featuring 8k textures. Every single form or shape is not clearly visible on this iconic Cathedral facade now capable of producing lights effects around it as never before in a simulator. The colors of the facade are from real high resolution images; as such the facade is extremely realistic. Many photogrammetry melted buildings all around the Cathedral have been replaced with higher resolution textures 3D buildings; buildings around the square have been replaced and built from real world images to maintain the real world location look. Gardens; have been built planting trees; bushes; flowers and new grass. Bridges have been replaced built from real world images; and traffic fixed; extensive canal terraforming was required to adjust terrain to eliminate bumps and imperfections to a great extend. It is now a far more pleasant view when fly over this iconic location from the view it can offer from the air and on the ground. The Fontaine de la Vierge in Paris is an elegant, slender, neo-gothic triangular fountain built between 1843 and 1845; this Fontaine is located just behind Notre Dame; it is now modelled in full high resolution details. All work feature 4k and some 8k texturing pbr graphics. Optimized for max performance.

Around runway 18/36 (2,445 m / 8,022 ft), you'll find an ultra-detailed reproduction of both the civil airport and the Civil Security base:

1. V4 is a major upgrade from V3, bringing full compatibility with MSFS2024 WU22 and significantly improved ground visuals. Ground textures and markings across major parking zones, overlooks, turnouts, and park highways have been thoroughly reworked. Updates include high-detail asphalt surfaces and crisp markings (centerlines, curb lines, stall lines, stop bars, drive aisles, and directional arrows). POIs have also been added to all add-on areas.
