During our research expedition across Greenland, part of the FSimStudios team had the opportunity to extensively survey Ilulissat and its developing new international airport. We are now proud to present what we have been working on: a fully up-to-date, ultra-detailed rendition of Ilulissat Airport (BGJN/JAV), as of September 1, 2026!
Ilulissat is one of Greenland’s most important tourism destinations and the gateway to Disko Bay and the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord. Its existing airport has long relied on a short 845-metre runway, limiting the types of aircraft able to serve the city. That is about to change. The new Ilulissat International Airport, officially scheduled to open in October 2026, features a new 2,200-metre / 7217 feet runway and modern terminal facilities capable of accommodating significantly larger aircraft and direct international operations.
The opening will be marked by an Air Greenland A330neo flight, followed by the introduction of direct scheduled service between Ilulissat and Copenhagen. The longer-term goal of the airport project is to make Ilulissat considerably more accessible from abroad, opening opportunities for additional destinations throughout Europe and North America while strengthening the city’s position as one of Greenland’s principal international gateways.
For a period of time, the existing and new airport facilities will continue to operate simultaneously as operations transition to the new international airport. Our rendition captures this unique moment in Ilulissat’s aviation history, representing both the established airport and the nearly completed international facility as they exist immediately before the official opening.

NOTE: The final navigational dataset for the new runway has not yet been released through Navigraph. Once the applicable navdata becomes available, the product will be reviewed and updated if necessary to ensure compatibility with the published navigational data and procedures.

Notre Dame
Notre Dame scenery a complete rebuild to the area around the Notre Dame Cathedral. Bridges; gardens; buildings; water; Notre Dame Cathedral front; traffic; parked cars; trees; photogrammetry have all been fixed around this iconic location. The front of the Cathedral have been completely rebuild to the highest details possible featuring 8k textures. Every single form or shape is not clearly visible on this iconic Cathedral facade now capable of producing lights effects around it as never before... The front of the Cathedral have been completely rebuild to the highest details possible featuring 8k textures. Every single form or shape is not clearly visible on this iconic Cathedral facade now capable of producing lights effects around it as never before in a simulator. The colors of the facade are from real high resolution images; as such the facade is extremely realistic. Many photogrammetry melted buildings all around the Cathedral have been replaced with higher resolution textures 3D buildings; buildings around the square have been replaced and built from real world images to maintain the real world location look. Gardens; have been built planting trees; bushes; flowers and new grass. Bridges have been replaced built from real world images; and traffic fixed; extensive canal terraforming was required to adjust terrain to eliminate bumps and imperfections to a great extend. It is now a far more pleasant view when fly over this iconic location from the view it can offer from the air and on the ground. The Fontaine de la Vierge in Paris is an elegant, slender, neo-gothic triangular fountain built between 1843 and 1845; this Fontaine is located just behind Notre Dame; it is now modelled in full high resolution details. All work feature 4k and some 8k texturing pbr graphics. Optimized for max performance.

LFTW Nimes-Garons Airport
Nîmes-Garons Airport (LFTW): where civil aviation meets France's Sécurité Civile (Civil Security).
Located in southern France, Nîmes-Garons Airport (LFTW / FNI) is a regionally important airport: commercial aviation with 250,000 passengers in 2025 (to London, Brussels, Marrakech, etc. ), along with general and business aviation and a flight school.
It shares its runway with the French Civil Security base (BASC) and its Canadair CL-415 and Dash 8 water bombers, as well as the heli... Nîmes-Garons Airport (LFTW): where civil aviation meets France's Sécurité Civile (Civil Security).

Around runway 18/36 (2,445 m / 8,022 ft), you'll find an ultra-detailed reproduction of both the civil airport and the Civil Security base:
- Taxiways, parking areas, and ground markings
- Ground textures, hangars, buildings, and technical facilities
- Static aircraft and helicopters: Canadair CL-415, Dash 8, and EC145
- Animations: characters, flags, and wind socks that react to real-world wind

1. V4 is a major upgrade from V3, bringing full compatibility with MSFS2024 WU22 and significantly improved ground visuals. Ground textures and markings across major parking zones, overlooks, turnouts, and park highways have been thoroughly reworked. Updates include high-detail asphalt surfaces and crisp markings (centerlines, curb lines, stall lines, stop bars, drive aisles, and directional arrows). POIs have also been added to all add-on areas.

KBFM - Mobile Intl. Airport
Mobile International Airport (IATA/FAA: BFM, ICAO: KBFM) is located within the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, approximately three nautical miles south of downtown Mobile and directly beside Mobile Bay. The airport combines two substantial runways with immediate road, rail and maritime access. Its unusually varied traffic includes aircraft manufacturing and delivery flights, cargo services, maintenance operations, business and general aviation, charters and occasional military movements.
The ai... Mobile International Airport (IATA/FAA: BFM, ICAO: KBFM) is located within the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, approximately three nautical miles south of downtown Mobile and directly beside Mobile Bay. The airport combines two substantial runways with immediate road, rail and maritime access. Its unusually varied traffic includes aircraft manufacturing and delivery flights, cargo services, maintenance operations, business and general aviation, charters and occasional military movements.
The airfield originated as Bates Field, Mobile's first municipal airport, established in 1929. The United States Army Air Corps acquired the site in 1938, after which it developed into Brookley Army Air Field and later Brookley Air Force Base. During the Second World War, Brookley became a major aircraft overhaul, supply and logistics centre whose waterfront location allowed aircraft and components to arrive by ship. At its wartime peak, the installation employed approximately 17,000 civilian workers.
The closure of Brookley Air Force Base in 1969 had a severe impact on the regional economy, but the extensive runways, aprons and hangars gave the site a strong foundation for recovery. One of Brookley's most unusual later operations occurred in 1984, when Space Shuttle Enterprise arrived aboard NASA's modified Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft before being transferred by barge to the Louisiana World Exposition in New Orleans.
Brookley's modern transformation accelerated after Airbus selected Mobile in 2012 for its first commercial-aircraft final assembly facility in the United States. A320-family production began in 2015, A220 manufacturing followed in 2019, and a second A320-family line opened in 2025. Today, the aerospace campus includes production hangars, paint shops, logistics buildings and aircraft-delivery facilities, creating an operating environment rarely encountered at a regional airport.
Passenger service returned to KBFM in 2019 through a compact two-gate terminal. The airport is now being prepared to assume Mobile's principal scheduled passenger role, with a new approximately 143,000-square-foot terminal planned to open in spring 2027. The initial development provides five contact gates, an elevated roadway, rental-car facilities, surface parking and a five-storey parking garage, with future expansion planned.
This scenery captures KBFM during one of the most important periods in its history. The operational airfield, Airbus manufacturing campus, maintenance and cargo facilities, surviving Brookley infrastructure and developing passenger-terminal complex combine to offer an exceptional setting for airliner, delivery, cargo, military and general aviation operations.
