Flight operations usually take place daily between 10:00 a. m. and sunset , but no later than 8:00 p. m. local time . However, no traffic circuits may be flown on Sundays and public holidays .
Hildesheim runways (07/25 asphalt and grass) are approved for aircraft up to 5. 7 t, helicopters , self-launching motor gliders , gliders , ultralight aircraft , airships , model aircraft and manned free balloons . HILDESHEIM airfield is home for many events : M'era Luna Festival, Moto XTreme Days, Technorama classic car races. On this airport you can find flying schools, skydive centers and flying clubs. Several members of the Damme Aeroclub joined forces, acquired the airfield, and founded the company Verkehrslandeplatz Damme Besitzgesellschaft (Damme Public Landing Site Ownership Company) . Since then, the airfield areas have been leased to Verkehrslandeplatz Damme Betriebsgesellschaft (Damme Public Landing Site Operating Company) , whose shareholders are also the airfield owners.
On 20 March 2012, a retired Transall aircraft of the German Armed Forces , first registered in 1970, landed on the grounds of Damme Airfield and has since been exhibited there by the Museum of Technology, Nature and Aviation.

The Cloppenburg Air Sports Club (LSV) was founded in 1954 and is one of the oldest flying clubs in Germany. This airport is also often referred to as the “Texas Airport”. The motor flight department currently has an impressive 85 members and has 5 club aircraft stationed at the airfield.
The airfield is also used as a jumping site by the Wildeshausen skydiving club
