In its Cold Water Plant there are 2 generator groups powered by natural gas, which supply electricity to the entire airport. Through the cogeneration process, the hot water, used to cool the generators, as well as their exhausted gases, are reused, generating chilled water through an Absorption Chiller.

Macapá is one of the very few airports where anyone can freely enter and leave duty free without being a passenger, domestic or international. This is due to the Free Trade Area of Macapá and Santana - ALCMS, which brought customs privileges to both municipalities. Another franchise also offered is universal free parking.
