These features improved reinforcements throughout the jet, allowing for higher weight at the landing and take-off. Not only that, but these advanced jets have an improved range. They do, of course, come with a higher price tag.

Cessna 140
The Cessna 140 was introduced in 1949, following on from the 120. Uprated engines and improved landing gear were among the changes and provided the aviation public with an aeroplane that was comfortable and easy to fly.
The 140 stands out from other Cessnas with its unique "art deco", automotive style instrument panels. The interior layout is simply but comfortably furnished and everything is to hand. This made the aeroplane the ideal trainer and its near vice-less behaviour and inherent... The Cessna 140 was introduced in 1949, following on from the 120. The Long-EZ has a canard layout, with a delta wing and wingtip rudders, and a pusher engine and propelleor. The tricycle landing gear has fixed main wheels with streamlined spats, and a retractable nosewheel. Its predecessor was the VariEze, plans of which were first available to homebuilders in 1976. The Long-EZ was modern, high performance, custom built long range aircraft featuring the latest advances in aerodynamics and structure to provide good utility, economy, comfort, simplicity and flight safety. The aircraft uses one of two proven certified aircraft engines, the continental O-200 (100 hp) and the Lycoming O-235 (115 hp. ) It has an alternator powered electrical system and can be equipped with an electric engine starter. lt’s cockpit layout is designed to compliment pilot work load with throttle, mixture, carb heat, pitch trim and landing controls on the left side console and a side stick controller on the right console. Seating provides correct armrest, lumbar, thigh and headrest support allowing “recliner chair‘ comfort not found in conventional aircraft seats. This allows long, fatigue free flights. The inboard portion of the large wing strakes are used as baggage areas accessible from the front and rear cockpit.

Functional Aircraft Carrier
Hard Deck Simulations Carrier Module
The carrier module is the first aircraft carrier with functioning catapults and arrestor cables made for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
We set out to design a beautiful and functional aircraft carrier to be used with the vast number of military aircraft addons slated to launch for MSFS. The module was written in such a way that any aircraft, stock or addon, can use the catapults and arrestor cables without any modification to the aircraft itself. ... The carrier module is the first aircraft carrier with functioning catapults and arrestor cables made for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
We set out to design a beautiful and functional aircraft carrier to be used with the vast number of military aircraft addons slated to launch for MSFS. The module was written in such a way that any aircraft, stock or addon, can use the catapults and arrestor cables without any modification to the aircraft itself. The carriers work great in multiplayer.
The carrier module includes two components included in a simple self-installer:
- Scenery - 5 static, detailed Nimitz Class aircraft carriers positioned around the world
- Software - HDS Carrier Module to enable catapult and arrestor cable functionality
This addon does not include any aircraft, however, it works with any stock or addon aircraft you already have.
The addon is simple to use. Once installed you simply run the HDS Carrier Module software in the background while you fly.
Catapult Launch - ***CRASHES MUST BE DISABLED***
The add-on detects when you are lined up for a catapult launch. Your launch speed is automatically calculated based on the physics of your aircraft, meaning the module works with every aircraft from a Cessna to fighter jets to 747s. To launch the aircraft you simply set the parking brake, set full thrust, and release the parking brake to be launch off the deck.
Arrestor Cable Landing
Due to the current limitations of the SDK provided by Microsoft, tailhooks are not yet supported in the game. HDS Carrier Module currently assumes your tailhook is extended at all times (we will update this as the SDK improves). To trigger an arrestor cable landing, simply line up with the runway, and land within the arrestor cables. HDS physics simulates the arrestor cable physics to bring the aircraft to a stop.
FLOS - Optical Landing System
An optical landing system has been implemented into the software which will appear when on approach to the carrier. The FLOS provides vertical guidance in reference to the glidepath that the aircraft is on. If the FLOS "ball" is above the two bright green datum lines, the aircraft is above the flight path. Similiary if the "ball" is below the green datum lines, the aircraft is below the glidepath. You can enable and disable FLOS from the HDS software window. You can drag the FLOS around on your screen and HDS will remember it's position for the next approach.
Aircraft carriers have been positioned in various locations around the globe. Over time more locations may be added as we continue to update the addon.

Solent Airport
Located on the South coast between the cities of Southampton and Portsmouth, Solent Airport began its history in 1917 as a Naval seaplane training school. Training continued throughout both World Wars, with the airfield being commissioned “HMS Daedalus” in 1939.
By the 1960’s, HMS Daedalus began hovercraft trials to test hovercraft for interservice military uses. These trials continued until 1982 before being closed. Today, the hovercraft museum offers visitors the chance to browse the large... HMS Daedalus was formally closed in 1996, but brought back into existence when Fareham Borough Council purchased the site in 2015. It was officially renamed Solent Airport in 2016.
Today, Solent Airport is a busy civilian airfield, with local flight schools Phoenix Aviation and Hampshire Aeroplane Club, the HM Coastguard Search and Rescue and Spitfires. com all calling it their home.
Solent Airport has been faithfully recreated by Burning Blue Design undertaking on-site visits. We have also collaborated with actual pilots based at Solent to ensure the highest levels of accuracy. It features:

- Transparent and translucent glass panes can appear very dark when subject to particle effects such as rain, snow and fog. This is a known bug that Asobo/Microsoft are aware of and will hopefully fix in the near future.
- In rare occasions the North-side custom ground imagery can be covered by the default photogrammetry ground textures. Symptoms are a clear line between green and brown grass colour close to the Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee Park. Possible workarounds for when this issue is encountered are returning to the main menu and reloading into the airfield, or by turning photogrammetry off, then back on. We continue to investigate the root cause of this behaviour.

Popham Airfield
Situated along side the A303, just north of Winchester, Popham Airfield is home to the Spitfire Flying Club.
In the early 1970’s the land alongside the A303 was purchased by Jim Espin, a member of the Hampshire Strut of the Popular Flying Association. With the aid of fellow members of the Strut, the land was cleared, levelled, seeded and transformed into an airstrip. The original strip is now the 26/08 runway of the present airfield. In 1978, the airfield was purchased by Charles Churc... Situated along side the A303, just north of Winchester, Popham Airfield is home to the Spitfire Flying Club.

Today, Popham Airfield welcomes over 10,000 visitors annually and is famous for hosting many events over the year, including the Microlight trade fair in May, the annual Motorcycle Mega Meet, Classic Car Show and Vintage Aircraft Fly-in in August and the New Year’s Day Fly-in.
It is also home to the world’s only “Ikarus C42 As” flight training simulator. This allows the Popham-based flight school, AirBourne Aviation (www. flyMAC. co. uk), to offer flight training to its students no matter the weather conditions. This makes AirBourne Aviation the UK’s ONLY all-weather flight school.
Popham Airfield has been painstakingly recreated by Burning Blue Design’s modellers and coders undertaking multiple on-site visits and flights. We have worked in collaboration with AirBourne Aviation to ensure the highest levels of accuracy. It features:
- Over 160 custom 3D objects have been created exclusively for Popham airfield, each with full Physical Based Rendering (PBR) allowing for extremely realistic textures.
- Thousands of carefully placed stock assets, every cone, car, sign and fence has been placed in it’s correct location ensuring an atmosphere of a working airfield.

- Transparent and translucent glass panes can appear very dark when subject to particle effects such as rain, snow and fog. This is a known bug that Asobo/Microsoft are aware of and will fix in the near future.
