Macapá - Alberto Alcolumbre International Airport (IATA: MCP, ICAO: SBMQ) serves the city of Macapá and the state of Amapá. The airport operates flights to several Brazilian cities and currently has the capacity to receive large planes such as the Boeing 767 and the Airbus A330. The airport is the 35th busiest in Brazil and the 5th in the North Region.
Its expansion works were resumed, which will increase the capacity of 750 thousand passengers / year to 4. 5 million, and its inauguratio... Macapá - Alberto Alcolumbre International Airport (IATA: MCP, ICAO: SBMQ) serves the city of Macapá and the state of Amapá. The airstrip measures 2,100m long and 45m wide, and two headlands 08 and 26. The nature of the floor is Asphalt and its PCN 48 / F / C / X / T. The main aircraft parking yard has an area of 11,000 m², with asphalt pavement and concrete islands, with 04 parking positions, where the largest aircraft that operates is the Boeing 737-800, being able to operate up to AIRBUS A320 and Embraer E195 aircraft. . The general aviation area covers 10,900 m², with a capacity for 12 aircraft.
Macapá is one of the very few airports where anyone can freely enter and leave duty free without being a passenger, domestic or international. This is due to the Free Trade Area of Macapá and Santana - ALCMS, which brought customs privileges to both municipalities. Another franchise also offered is universal free parking.
The airport has several weekly flights to Belém and Brasília by LATAM Airlines Brasil, Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras and Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes and will have a weekly flight on Saturday to Recife by Azul from October 14, 2019.
