Before the crisis caused by the Covid pandemic, the number of passengers who passed through Ciampino airport was close to 6 million/year (2017). In 2022, LIRA was in fourteenth place in the ranking of passenger traffic among Italian airports, with over 3 million and 400 thousand transits and - despite the limitation of daily flights, imposed for environmental reasons - thanks also to the commercial policies of various low cost companies, continues to be one of the fastest growing national airports. Ciampino is connected to the main European destinations (but also non-European ones, like Morocco) and the busiest routes are, in order, those with London, Madrid, Bucharest, Lisbon, Dublin, Athens, Berlin, Paris, Cologne and Manchester. As far as national routes are concerned, the connection with Cagliari is in first place.

Runway extended to 2000 m
Two new taxiways
The main apron very enlarged compared to the current
Start of works for the construction of the new General Aviation terminal, scheduled for 2025
The works will continue, and in 2026 the "Costa d’Amalfi" should be finished with:
Runway extended to 2200 m
New main terminal
New GA terminal
ILS navigation system (assumed)
New airport buildings
New car parkings
To celebrate this "new" reality in the Italian airport scene, and anticipate the preview for fans, BarelliMsfsAddon has prepared the new addon dedicated to Salerno, divided into two separate mods: Salerno 2024 and Salerno 2026. These are two mods to install as usual in the MSFS Community folder, obviously NOT at the same time. When publishing the 2024 version, it is important to specify that:
Official Enav cards are not yet available, so the markings and signage are similar to the current ones, with the appropriate variants; as soon as official news will be ready, which may however delay, you will be provided with a free update. Regarding the 2026 version, it is specified that:
Regarding the new terminal only architectural renderings are available, as officially presented in 2023, and based on these was created the new terminal for the simulator.
Regarding the GA terminal there is no info, so the building was "invented", in the place where it will be built, inspired by existing GA terminals (Rome Ciampino and Olbia); also in this case, when and if news will be available, we will update.
It is assumed, reading between the lines of the official statements, that there will be the subsidy of an ILS on runway 05, the frequency of which was imagined as 108. 50 MHz.
The new parkings of the cars have always been deducted from the official renderings.

It is named after Henri Coandă (1886-1972), an engineer, scientist and pioneer of Romanian aerodynamics. In the area where the airport is located today there was a military facility with a 1,200-metre runway, used between 1940 and 1944 by the Third Reich Air Force and then, from the end of World War II to 1965 by the Romanian Air Force. In 1965, it became clear that Bucharest’s only civil airport, Bucharest Băneasa Airport (now Aurel Vlaicu International Airport), would no longer be sufficient to withstand the increasing air traffic, and a new airport was decided. The choice fell on the existing military structure of Otopeni: the works lasted about 4 years and focused on the construction of the passenger terminal and the extension of the runway to 3,500 meters. In 1969, the first civilian flights began. A new development occurred in 1986, with the inauguration of the second runway, of equal size and parallel to the previous one, which allowed to reach the capacity of 35 air movements per hour. In September 2004, the airport’s name was changed to Henri Coandă, a pioneer of aviation, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of civil aviation operations. Recently the construction of a new railway-metro line that connects the main railway station (Gara de Nord) with Otopeni airport. Last year the apron #2 has been completely redone, with many new parking places. It is managed by Società Esercizi Aeroporti (SEA). It is the second Italian airport for passenger traffic after Rome-Fiumicino Airport, the 9th airport in the world and the 6th place in Europe by number of countries served by direct scheduled flights. In 2022, 21. 3 million passengers and 721 254 tons of goods passed through Malpensa airport, confirming the first airport in Italy for freight traffic and the second airport in Italy for passenger traffic.
Together with Linate Airport and Orio al Serio Airport, it forms the Milan airport system with 51. 4 million passengers (year 2023), the first airport system in Italy (the second Italian airport system is that of Rome with 44. 4 million passengers in 2023).
Malpensa is home to several airlines, such as easyjet, Ryanair and Wizz Air; it is the hub for the cargo airline Cargolux Italia and the passenger airline Neos. The airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 is used by scheduled, charter and low cost flights, with the exception of the easyjet company that exclusively uses Terminal 2.
Malpensa Airport is equipped with two parallel runways, both 3,920 metres long and 60 metres wide (ICAO 4F classification), oriented at 349 χ. (or 169 χ, depending on the direction of use) and 808 m apart; The 17L, 35L and 35R are equipped with ILS and all have the PAPI system. Normally the two runways oriented to 349 χ are used. (alternately for departures and arrivals), while the heads 17 are active only in case of particularly unfavorable wind or when there are no planes landing; That’s why planes heading south are being taken off like this, but it’s rare.
CargoCity is the name given to the airport terminal 3 dedicated to cargo flights. Currently, the port of call is confirmed the first in Italy for this type of traffic.

It is the place that, in March 1961, welcomed the first pilots of the Frecce Tricolori and is now inextricably linked to the name of the National Acrobatic Patrol (PAN). Today it is also the seat of the 2nd Stormo and is certainly one of the most known and visited places in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The men who work there are constantly engaged in making it better and more hospitable. You can’t say that you know the PAN without visiting this small but important corner of the Air Force. (cit. Ghigi aviation)The air base of Rivolto is undergoing major changes, including the new runway, which has replaced an old taxiway; we hope to have rebuilt the base as it is or will be soon; if we have uncertainties result from the fact that even the images of Google Earth are still up to date and that the military authorities do not give information; what we reconstructed comes from information from third parties non-military.

Trieste Airport (IATA: TRS, ICAO: LIPQ) is an Italian airport in Friuli-Venezia Giulia (and largest for the transport of people in the region itself) located in the municipality of Ronchi dei Legionari, 30 km northwest of Trieste , 21 km southwest of Gorizia, and 38 km south of Udine, along the Venezia Giulia state road 14. The structure, open to commercial traffic, is equipped with an asphalt runway 3000 m long and 45 m wide, with RWY 09-27 orientation and is managed by the company Aeroporto Friuli Venezia Giulia S. p. A. under the trade name of Trieste Airport - Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The first airport structure in the territory of Ronchi dei Legionari is the training ground of the 4th Fighter Wing in 1935. The 17th Fighter Group was stationed here from July 1943 until 8 September 1943.
In the fifties, the area was chosen as the seat of the civil airport, which began operations on 2 December 1961: a Douglas DC-3 of the Mediterranean airline company took off for Rome, inaugurating commercial connections.
In 1978 the track was extended to the current 3,000 meters. The control tower that still manages the traffic of the airport was inaugurated in 1982. In 1998 the expansion and modernization works of the airport were completed, allowing a capacity of 1. 5 million passengers per year. An airport is also built for the freight sector.
On 9 June 2011, the regional council approved the development of an intermodal hub that would extend within an area of 475,000 m² between the airport and the current Venice-Trieste railway line, which runs 250 meters from the terminal. On March 19, 2018, the new intermodal hub was inaugurated which consists of a new railway station called "Trieste Airport-Ronchi dei Legionari" connected to the passenger terminal via an elevated walkway 425 meters long. A new bus and coach station equipped with 16 stalls, a multi-storey car park with 500 seats and a ground level car park with 1000 seats.

DESCRIZIONE
Air Serbia, Alba Star. es, German Airways, ITA Airways, Lufthansa, Ryanair, Volotea
