Helicopters are also able to land at this airport for emergency medical service, which especially playing an important role for local comm... Lanyu Airport (IATA code: KYD; ICAO code: RCLY). Hengchun Airport (IATA code: HCN; ICAO code: RCKW) is the southernmost and smallest airport on the island of Taiwan, with a 5,578-foot runway and a helicopter military base attached. The airport is adjacent to Kenting National Park, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the south coast flying over here. There is no scheduled flights since 2015 due to factors such as the downhill wind. The scenery also includes two landmarks: the highest point in Kenting, a huge rock on the grassland - Dashi... Instrument Simming 21st Century describes and explains advanced aviation knowledge needed for truly realistic instrument simulations. It applies to most aircraft, airports, airspaces, and simulators. It does not focus on any particular airport, aircraft, airspace, or simulator.
This manual is for home flight-simulation computer programs. It is based on real aviation laws, regulations, and procedures so home flight-simulation enthusiasts can maximize their enjoyment. Because some aspects of home flight-simulation games are not exactly like real-world aviation, some information in this book is not exactly like real flight. That is why Instrument Simming 21st Century is not intended for and should not be used for real-world flight or lessons. No liability is accepted for any misuse of this manual. – Bill Stack, author

Total Fire Control: FS Fire pulls real active fire data from the VIIRS NOAA-20 NRT satellite at 375m resolution, refreshed every 30 minutes by a cloud backend. Each hotspot's fire radiative power (FRP) is mapped to an appropriate fire size - so a major California blaze spawns differently than a small brush fire. DYNAMIC ACOUSTIC STRESS
Powered by a thread-safe, severity-aware audio engine — not a single static loop at one volume.
Multi-Layer Crossfading: Structural layers blend with normalized gain so combined volume stays controlled; random loop start points reduce repetitive “seam” artifacts.
Smoother, Severity-Aware Playback: Per-block gain smoothing, quiet Light chop, louder Moderate and Severe bands, and ~1. 5 s fade-out when an encounter ends instead of an instant cut.
Real-Time Low-Pass Filtering: Light turbulence stays muffled and deep in the airframe; severe encounters open the filter for sharper structural thumps.
Calm Air, True Silence: When Atmospheric TI and Felt Stress sit in the Smooth band, the cabin stays silent — no background hiss in dead calm.
ENGINEERING TELEMETRY DASHBOARD
RTS ships with a cockpit UI built for the 1. 1. 0 physics model.
Split Turbulence Metrics: Monitor Atmospheric TI (environment) and Felt Stress (wind-linked cabin disturbance) side by side, with wind and rotation readouts and severity color bands (Smooth → Light → Moderate → Severe).
Physics Signature Chart: Live traces separate Rotational motion, A/C Wind delta, and Air Mass shear so you can see which signal is driving the encounter.
