It is the year 1909, only six years after the brothers Wright performed the first motorized flight, when Louis Blériot achieved a breakthrough with his 11th attempt of designing a functional flying machine. The Blériot XI was a marvel of technology and the first succesfful monoplane design, featuring many elements that are still in use to today. The Blériot XI won awards, set records and was flown all around the world by the first aviators.
With this addon, Wing42 brings this iconic aircraft to life for Microsoft Flight Simulator, so you can relive the great moments and dangers of aviation in the 1910s. The Wing42 Blériot XI features two variants depicting prominent contemporary specimen of this aircraft. The high fidelity model features high resolution PBR textures, unique and jarring soundpacks - utilising the new WWise sound engine, as well as a ultra-realistic flight model that makes you tighten your grip around the controller until your knuckles turn white.
Flying a Blériot XI means flying with very small margins of error. With the cruise speed being a meager 7 knots higher than your stall speeds, it's a challenge to even keep this aircraft airborne! The light-weight construction, combined with inefficient wing-warping, means that there's very little lateral control and you need to plan every turn carefully, to ensure you don't end up in a spin.
On the other hand, this aircraft set numerous world records for speed, altitude and endurance. Louis Blériot performed the prize-winning flight across the English Channel in his 'Onze' - coincidentally completing the first international flight with this feat. A few years later, Peruvian Jorge Chávez chose the Blériot XI for his flight across the Alps. Swiss aviator Oskar Bider bought a Blériot XI to be the first to fly across the Pyrenees in a record flight of over 500 km from the French town Pau to the Spanish Guadalajara, close to Madrid.
Dive into the Wing42 Blériot XI and recreate these amazing accomplishments for yourself! If you do, you will re-learn how to fly and become a better pilot for it!

It is also the seat of the municipality of Lisbon, whose administrative boundaries coincide with those of the city and whose territory is subdivided into 24 parishes. The city's administrative status was originally granted by the dictator Julius Caesar as a Roman municipality.
Lisbon is considered a global city due to its importance in financial, commercial, media, artistic, educational and tourist aspects. It is one of the main economic centers of the European continent, thanks to a growing financial progress favored by the largest container port on the Atlantic coast of Europe. The Lisbon region is the richest in the country, being the twentieth richest on the continent.
Cascais is a Portuguese city in the sub-region of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, belonging to the region with the same name and the district of Lisbon.
Due to its natural and scenic values, both the town and the municipality experienced a surge in popularity that saw it become the preferred destination for Portuguese and foreign elites from the 19th century onwards. The arrival and electrification of the railway were essential for the progress of the municipality, being the main factor for its urbanization from 1930 onwards. Since then, it has grown to assert itself as one of the main suburbs of Lisbon and one of the main tourist destinations in the country, sharing the phenomena of suburbanization and peri-urbanization that took place in the rest of the metropolitan area, evident above all in the interior of the municipality.
The lights have been added for greater realism in the simulator. Are visible at great distances and through a huge area of the city. Not only the buildings, but also the highways and intersections of highways were fully illuminated. Your flight will be totally different with this product.

Focus and Limits
Instrument Simming 21st Century describes and explains advanced aviation knowledge needed for truly realistic instrument simulations. It applies to most aircraft, airports, airspaces, and simulators. It does not focus on any particular airport, aircraft, airspace, or simulator.
This manual is for home flight-simulation computer programs. It is based on real aviation laws, regulations, and procedures so home flight-simulation enthusiasts can maximize their enjoyment. Because some aspects of home flight-simulation games are not exactly like real-world aviation, some information in this book is not exactly like real flight. That is why Instrument Simming 21st Century is not intended for and should not be used for real-world flight or lessons. No liability is accepted for any misuse of this manual. – Bill Stack, author
Use Your Time Productively
Don’t lose valuable flight-simming opportunities searching the internet for flimsy freebies. Most are worth their cost. Ftldave says it best:
“YouTube is hit or miss. Sometimes there's great, informative content, other times the videos are useless and unintelligible. How much time do you want to spend searching for the former, how much time to waste with the latter? As is often said about open software, the same is true for this: It's free if your time has no value to you. ”
Flight simmers have trusted, benefitted, and enjoyed my instructional books since 1997.
Satisfaction Guaranteed
A lot of time and effort has been invested by me and others toward making a quality product that is useful to people. Any book with physical defects will be replaced at no cost. If you can show that the content of Instrument Simming 21st Century is not as described, your money will be refunded. If you find facts that you believe are in error, please let me know so I can evaluate them. – Bill Stack, Author

*******************************
Total Fire Control: FS Fire pulls real active fire data from the VIIRS NOAA-20 NRT satellite at 375m resolution, refreshed every 30 minutes by a cloud backend. Each hotspot's fire radiative power (FRP) is mapped to an appropriate fire size - so a major California blaze spawns differently than a small brush fire. Beyond live data, you can manually spawn custom fires anywhere in the world using map-click placement or direct coordinates, with sizes from 1 to 10. Enable wind-driven spread and fires will grow and shift downwind in real time based on wind speed and direction. Larger fires require multiple hits to extinguish - click any fire icon on the map to track its current extinguish percentage.
*******************************
Physics-Based Drop System: Drop calculations factor your altitude AGL, ground speed, and heading to place retardant or water exactly where physics says it should land. Elliptical splash zones grow with altitude and airspeed, forward travel is modeled, and hits are computed against a dynamic fire radius. Works with any aircraft via the FS Fire VFX engine, or with native MSFS firefighting capable aircraft. Choose from unlimited drops, or enable the "Tank Refill" capability.
*******************************
Full Multiplayer Support: Host a session and fly with other players across VATSIM, IVAO, or native MSFS multiplayer. Fire state, prop objects, VFX drops, and retardant hits all sync in real time. Session hosts have total control over a session - live fire spawning, manual fire spawning, prop spawning, and guest management functions. All fires, props, drops, and drop effects are seamlessly synced in multiplayer.
*******************************
Helicopter Bucket: Spawn a suspended helicopter water bucket under any helicopter, complete with water scooping capability over any body of water and realistic drop physics and effects.
*******************************
Mission System: 325 handcrafted missions at real-world POIs globally - fires, vehicle incidents, boat emergencies, and structure fires. Each mission logs your drop efficiency (minimum drops ÷ actual drops × 100%) and awards Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals. Daily Challenges double your points, Weekly Goals track ongoing progress, and a persistent logbook stores your best result per mission. Missions can be completed solo or in multiplayer with the help of others.
*******************************
Live Moving Map: A multi-layer map follows your aircraft in real time using a 30 fps physics interpolation loop. Toggle track-up or north-up, use the declutter control to filter between all markers, fires only, or none. Click any fire marker for a popup with size and AGL data, click the map to get coordinates for a precision GPS drop, and place or drag simobject props directly on the map. In multiplayer, other players in your session appear on the map with live position updates.
*******************************
Simobject (Props) Scene Builder: Browse the MSFS simobject catalog - hundreds of default objects, direct user entry, or MSFS 2024 file system scanned simobjects - spanning aircraft, ground vehicles, boats, animals, humans, and landmarks. Spawn any object by map-click or coordinate, rotate its heading, and drag it to reposition. Set props in motion by creating a path on the map. Save and load entire scenes including fire layouts, with optional prop-only or fires-only saves.

THE ATMOSPHERIC ENGINE
Wind-Linked Detection, Not Flight-Control Noise: Real Turbulence reads live ambient wind shear, aircraft wind on the airframe, cloud and terrain context, and MSFS turbulence data — not body-relative wind that spikes when you pitch or bank. Encounters follow the atmosphere, not your stick inputs.
Felt Stress & Atmospheric TI: Two separate metrics show what the sky is doing versus what the cabin actually feels. Atmospheric Intensity tracks environmental turbulence; Felt Stress (0–100%) builds only when real wind disturbance is present and pilot maneuver dampening is not active.
Intelligent Air Mass Analysis: Beyond a single wind read, the engine evaluates 3D shear, aircraft wind deltas, cloud density, terrain, and altitude to classify what you are flying through:
- Convective (In-Cloud): Updrafts and downdrafts when penetrating storm cells.
- Orographic (Mountain Wave): Mechanical turbulence and rotors over rugged terrain.
- Clear Air Turbulence (CAT): Sudden jolts in strong winds aloft.
- Gust Factor: Short spikes above a 10-second wind baseline register as gusts without permanent false alarms.
Ground Kill-Switch: On the ground and at low altitude above the runway, encounters stay suppressed — no turbulence alerts while taxiing.
DYNAMIC ACOUSTIC STRESS
Powered by a thread-safe, severity-aware audio engine — not a single static loop at one volume.
Multi-Layer Crossfading: Structural layers blend with normalized gain so combined volume stays controlled; random loop start points reduce repetitive “seam” artifacts.
Smoother, Severity-Aware Playback: Per-block gain smoothing, quiet Light chop, louder Moderate and Severe bands, and ~1. 5 s fade-out when an encounter ends instead of an instant cut.
Real-Time Low-Pass Filtering: Light turbulence stays muffled and deep in the airframe; severe encounters open the filter for sharper structural thumps.
Calm Air, True Silence: When Atmospheric TI and Felt Stress sit in the Smooth band, the cabin stays silent — no background hiss in dead calm.
ENGINEERING TELEMETRY DASHBOARD
RTS ships with a cockpit UI built for the 1. 1. 0 physics model.
Split Turbulence Metrics: Monitor Atmospheric TI (environment) and Felt Stress (wind-linked cabin disturbance) side by side, with wind and rotation readouts and severity color bands (Smooth → Light → Moderate → Severe).
Physics Signature Chart: Live traces separate Rotational motion, A/C Wind delta, and Air Mass shear so you can see which signal is driving the encounter.
Aircraft Characteristics Panel: Rotational stress, live aircraft wind stress, and a Maneuver Dampening badge when pilot-input suppression is active.
Encounter Status: Clear LIGHT / MODERATE / SEVERE labels with hysteresis and cooldown for stable on/off behavior — plus meteorological context for what you are flying through.
Compatibility: MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. Works with default aircraft and high-end third-party addons. SimConnect telemetry is requested efficiently once per subscription for stable, low-overhead updates.
